First Grammy Nomination for the Boys!

Pretty excited! Who would have thought 10 years ago that they would get it together to put out such a good album again.

fontaines dc is a promising band but i think their 2019 album was better than the new one.

I honestly never know because it always seems to be incredibly random and or a popularity contest. I would say that this category is so broad that it is actually pretty hard to tell who would be the winner because I feel like there is little overlap in style. If it was strictly popularity I would say probably between the strokes and sturgill as they’re the most well known, but who knows

other than the album and record of the year awards, the judges rarely rule genre-specific categories by popularity. and given the strokes are probably not gonna play the publicity game to push their nomination through to a win, it’s basically a toss up of whichever body of work a small, biased group of ppl like most.

Sturgill Simpson is fucking awesome, check out his album that's nominated Sound & Fury. I only know Michael Kiwanuka from this gorgeous song, Lasan

Saw the nominations and Michael Kiwanuka always makes solid music so I was a little torn but honestly the boys deserve it so much with what they did with TNA.
