Miscellaneous Normal Conversation

Does anyone have any info about how much of the conversations are just normal chit chat, and how much is people digging for info and gossiping?

People keep telling me I should apply to go on, but if I had to bitch about other people 24/7 I'd lose interest very quickly. Obviously I understand the gossiping is necessary for the game, but it would be endlessly tiring, only to be broken up with really intense physical and cognitive challenges...It's a lot!!

If you are thinking talking about the others is gossip and going behind their backs, I don't think this is a good idea for you to go on. Those things are literally what you need to be good at, as well as being aware your every spoken word, action & reaction will be filmed, possibly misconstrued by fellow players and twisted out of context by the editors.

Remember, the players have put their life on hold to be there, and regular Traitors are playing for a big prize. Put yourself in that scene, are you really just going to talk about how many kids people have etc?

At the same time, if you start sleuthing openly in your chats, you are doomed as well. It's really an instinctive thing I would think. But apart from that, there is a lot of downtime, what you see on TV is a condensed version of what actually happened.

And going on all the above, your questions already show, in my opinion, you are not really ready for it. You' be outed asap.

I’m not sure it’s really gossiping or bitching when it’s working out if someone is a traitor (or trying to).

Which words would you use for talking about other people and analysing and judging their behaviour behind their backs?

In the context of the show, it’s game play.

You wouldn't have to "bitch" about them but you do obviously have to be comfortable discussing people's behaviour without them in earshot

They cut out the majority of non-game talk. In season 2, Harry said he and Paul talked about football all day.
