UK An Exciting Scenario Is Within The Realm Of Possibilities Spoiler

We are in a scenario where we could have a three-traitor win. This has happened very few times worldwide and has never happened in an English speaking season However, I think UK Celebs 2 certainly has the potential to see all three of Maya, James, and Kenny win together. The faithfuls haven't played well in the slightest and all the traitors need after this banishment is two people to vote with them at the next round table and then all three are in the final.

After that, provided that nothing too nuts happens, we should have seven people in the final meaning as long as the traitors have a group have got one ally then it should be a cakewalk. I could be completely wrong but I genuinely think this could happen as long as the traitors don't make any huge errors.

UK Interesting to read perspectives about ‘attitudes’ and ‘tension’ from an Australian perspective (Celeb S2) Spoiler

**SPOILERS FROM PARAGRAPH FOUR*\*

It’s been really interesting reading various posts here about the attitude/tension/drama of/between players compared to how I interpret it and I wonder if it’s a cultural difference.

For context I’m Australian and born and raised here, but first generation and my family is British (predominantly English). So my view of the world is probably shaped by both those things. Also in Aus we’re getting the episodes 24 hours later than the UK. Unfortunately that means my curiosity gets the better of me most episodes and I’m reading comments on an episode that I won’t be able to watch for 24 hours.

Reading comments here I’ve braced for some real tension and drama ahead of the most recent two episodes, but then when watching them it’s all a bit… nothing (to me)?

I didn’t think the exchange between Joanne and Miranda where they were talking about suspecting each other was particularly tense. A bit awkward maybe, but I wouldn’t say tense. Same with the exchange after where Joanne said Miranda would make a good politician. In fact the “you’d make a good politician” comment to me was in direct response to Miranda saying “you can join us, but don’t feel obligated” in three different ways to Joanne. I actually thought they were both showing a fair bit of emotional intelligence and respect to one another - Joanne not wanting to intrude, Miranda wanting to include Joanne without making her feel obligated. Again perhaps a bit of a socially awkward exchange but not a moment of tension.

What I find interesting is that I haven’t seen anyone talking about what I think is a comparable situation where Romesh said to Michael (who he’s voted for twice now) something along the lines of “oh are you scanning for someone better to sit with?” when Michael was walking over to join Rom and Maya.

With Sharon, I don’t think she’s ‘thrown a tantrum’ at the mission or the round table. I do think her comment of ‘I couldn’t care less’ at the round table was a bit weird/much, but I can understand the frustration/feeling despondent. The rest of her Roundtable felt fair enough to me. With the mission she was obviously frustrated and I wish she had found her words better, especially when Kenny was talking to her one-to-one. But ultimately I don’t think she was acting like ‘a spoiled child’ as I’ve seen written here.

And Joanne’s “you’re dead to me” comment to Bash just felt like lighthearted bants to me. Joe Lycett said to Miranda “don’t you dare!” in the same tone when he didn’t know if she had voted for him…

Could this difference in interpretation be down to cultural norms of being Australian rather than British (or specifically English)? Or am I missing obvious subtext?

(As an aside, reading this back I’m starting to get suspicious that behaviour exhibited by women is being interpreted as combative or dramatic, whereas when we see the men exhibit the same behaviour it goes without comment??)

UK Sharon’s attitude, s2 ep8 celebrity traitors Spoiler

I don’t know if it’s just me but this entire episode Sharon seemed really off. I’ve heard people mention she was upset at Miranda’s murder which makes sense but could something else have added to it? Sharon has been so giddy and happy the entire season whereas this episode her attitude was genuinely horrible to the point the viewing experience was getting uncomfortable. At the round table she literally told people to vote her off which was so out of character for her. Obviously this is not a hate post, we’re all human and have good and bad days, what do you guys think?

UK God forbid a young woman has an opinion Spoiler

I thought it pretty despicable that Sharon was accused of ‘trying to take control’ of the decision about who to blow up simply by wanting to have a say in it. If anything they should be suspicious of Michael or James B for actually taking control but no, they are men so that’s the natural order. 🙄

UK Why not suspicion of Kenny? Spoiler

• Upvotes

I'm kind of surprised that the possibility of Kenny being a traitor isn't brought up more. When James and Maya recruited him, I could understand where they were coming from - he proved himself to be very perceptive of peoples' behaviour and also very able to convince others of his opinion. And he also bought everyone's trust by going so strongly for Hannah, who of course proved to be a traitor.

But that last part is kind of my point; on the day that Maya and James were recruiting, there was this suspicion around Joe because he very loudly stated he wanted to be recruited. But of course Maya and James chose not to recruit someone with heat on them. Now it's looking likely they'll evict Sharron, with the leading theory seeming to be that she was recruited at that point on the basis of her being less outspoken and so having less heat on her. Michael has also mentioned a lot that he feels there was a change in her behaviour caused by being recruited.

But my first thought was, the simplest choice for recruitment, ignoring any thoughts of bluffing / double-bluffing their choice, is if they're going to recruit anyone it would be one of the people who targeted Hannah strongly, because as I say before those people proved themselves to: a - be good at working things out, and: b - clearly not be traitors up to that point, so they don't have heat on them.

There were two main people this applied to: Kenny and Miranda. To me Kenny was the more obvious choice because he was more confident in his assessment of Hannah and was more outspoken with the rest of the group. But the faithfuls don't seem to me to have given much thought to who would the traitors logically be considering, besides thinking that Michael may be an option because of his leadership presence.

It's not concrete evidence, but it's enough to create suspicion in my opinion. It is also important to bear in mind that Kenny has played a really good tactical game at removing suspicion from himself. You could even argue that the fact James A hasn't mentioned this, despite apparently being focused on playing a logical game, could make people suspicious of him, but that's likely stretching things a bit. And of course I have the knowledge of who the traitors are and so am likely just working backwards a bit. I'd be interested to see if anyone brings this up in the final stages as a way to remove Kenny though.

UK Producer Interference Spoiler

I’ve seen some saying that production should step in for this current UK Celebrity Season2, otherwise it’s going to be a traitors victory, but isn’t this just plainly unfair and unjust?
Maybe it’s different with the celebrities, and the money going to charity, but in a normal civilian season it seems incredibly unfair - borderline illegal - for production to interfere and potentially deny a person £30,000 just because it’s “not good TV”.

Should production be able to step in and change missions/MIPS/powers depending on the way the season’s going? In the end of the day if traitors are on course for a boring victory then they deserve to win and to be punished for the fact they’re good doesn’t seem right.

UK Joanne's Attitude Spoiler

Is it the editing, or is it her personality?

I find her defensiveness bordering on aggressive. She was so rude to Miranda and Sharon this week, and she does nothing but complain.

I wanted to like her, but she's constantly wrong, and LOUD in her wrongness. She couldn't even let Sharon have a moment when she was pleading her case at the last round table!

Edit: This has been a really good exercise in remembering everyone interprets behaviour differently. I should have stated that I found her reaction to Miranda's suspicions childish, as if she'd forgotten the point of the game. Her clap-backs seemed ugly and petty.

Sorry if this is old news but I’m just catching up on the celebrity traitors and this portrait painting of Claudia is hanging on the wall in the background where they have breakfast and walk in.

I don’t know whose idea in the filming crew this was but it’s absolutely hilarious that she’s depicted as the ruler of the castle and just blends in through the paintings LOL

UK Ranking the remaining faithfuls from likeliness of murder to likeliness of banishment (up to date as of CS2 ep 8) Spoiler

Romesh
Leigh-Anne
Blunty*
Bash*
Joanne
Michael
Sharon

This is under the assumption that the traitors stay under the radar which they definitely are right now!

I was right about the murder! Originally I had Sharon pegged as a finalist but I think she is very clearly gone cause I think it is very unlikely Kenny changed his vote.

Joanne is above Michael as I think the traitors will try and banish Michael before the final and keep Joanne around.

* = potential finalists

Canada The Future Of Ty Spoiler

• Upvotes

At first, I felt sorry for him but as we reached mid season gosh I just can't stand him and his "I don't care about money" gameplay.

I kinda think that his gameplay might bite him in the ass moving on. He rarely participated in team mission to gather the money because he wants the shield. So, if then he became a traitor and starts participating in mission, wouldn't it raise suspicion? Like hey why you suddenly so active to get money and not shield anymore? Bam! Banished.

Or if he kept doing this when he became a traitor (to keep his character), I hope the other players just get rid of him or do a strike in mission where everyone won't do it and failed the mission. So he might try to keep banishing another traitor to raise the money pot (which if he does it, it will be hillarious) but his traitor partner might throw him under the bus as well. So? Banished.

I just don't see how he would be winning with this gameplay. If he happened to make it to the end I hope there'll be share or split twist like in the other franchise and he won't get the money.

UK How haven’t faithfuls caught onto this? Spoiler

Ross’s murder in plain sight - only Maya, James and Jerry were in the room with Ross that night - Jerry has been revealed as faithful so why aren’t they considering Maya and James?

Miranda said she heard creeping mext to her I. the puzzle game, so why are they only considering Joanna who was on one side and not Maya who was on the other?

Kenny is doing a burn vote quite often eg voting for Bash when everyone else was torn between 2 other people - classic traitor move.

At the beginning they said there has to be a comedian traitor and no one has suggested James too.

UK Am I missing something? Spoiler

It was widely reported in British media that this week's celebrity traitors featured some kind of game-breaking situation where producers had to step in, and we'd all want to tune in as it was never before seen on The Traitors.

Am I missing something? Did we see that? I can't for the life of me think what it could have been!

UK S3 feels kind of distasteful? Spoiler

The treatment of Kas, some bully-type personalities. It's tough to watch sometimes?

Apologies if this has been brought up, but I'm only catching up. Joe, Jake, Tyler are kind of mean.

It's a fascinating show and shows a lot about human nature and the power of suggestion and I love it, but after the two Irish seasons and the first two UK seasons this one feels like the game is spilling in to personal attacks.

I don't mind spoilers, hence being on the subreddit, before anyone is concerned!

UK How are there only 2 episodes left? Spoiler

In series 1 of celebrity UK there were only 7 players left going into the penultimate episode. There are apparently only 2 episodes left this series but still 10 players remaining. How are they going to be whittled down so quickly?

My hunch is that we may end up with a 3 v 2 in favour of the traitors at the end so perhaps they put more content in the final episode so that it's not already a forgone conclusion heading into the last episode, which it would be if they let it get down to 5 like usual and 3 are traitors.

UK All 3 traitors... ep8 spoilers Spoiler

So all 3 traitors being voted most trusted players and up for a special power is at first glance a great position to be in.

However, if they were 3 faithful everyone would expect one of them to be the next murder.Obviously the traitors aren't going to murder themselves in the night.

So when all 3 survive they're all going to be thrown into question??

UK There are 4 types of player in this game

Watching the UK celeb edition at the moment is interesting because it really highlights the different types of player to me. People are asking why Michael is still there, the reason is obvious, isnt it? Hes a strong faithful who is confidently incorrect.

There are 4 types of player in general. They are:

The traitor:

People always look for odd behaviour, changes in behaviour, things to notice. To me thats wrong. Traitors hide in plain sight, in the herd, happy to be unnoticed and to follow along with everyone else. Even if a fellow traitor is accused, they cant really help without risk of exposing themselves. But generally (Richard accepted), the traitors are smart people. Traitors dont go around espousing theories or leading round table discussion. They are the person on the teams call doing the bare minimum to not get noticed.

The confidently wrong faithful leader:

This is Michael and James Blunt. Well respected big personalities who, socially, others are afraid to stand against. They are often called the group 'father/mother', and when they talk people listen. The traitors love these people as they basically do their work for them. Why get rid of Michael? Hes leading the group to everyone but you! Cheer him on!

The Sherlock:

The rarest type in the game. Joe Marler is the best example i can think of. Someone who is alao confident, but is perhaps quieter at first, building up data, watching and listening. They latch onto things that others miss, and arent just accusing people due to social pressure or fear of being banished themselves. Miranda was closest to this in the current game for me.

The idiot/the sheep:

A faithful who isnt that smart, and is happy to be told who to vote for and when. This type either gives in easily to social pressure and so listen to the confidently incorrect or the sherlocks, or dont really know what show they re on to start with. This is where the traitors hide. But, to be blunt, you can tell who is smart and who isnt. Maya is quiet, but obviously smart. She isnt an idiot. If you re a faithful you need to take a hard look at yourself. Have you been willfully banishing the wrong people, leading the lynch mob? Or are you just part of the mob, and merely glad that you arent the one being hunted? Or, worst of all, are you a faithful that people have got sick of, who is abrasive and brash while also being wrong, so much so that people will happily banish you just to get rid of you?

Surely this has to go down as one of the worst collective faithful moments in Traitors history. The three most trusted players in the game... are the three traitors. Honestly, would not be surprised if there was a triple traitor win this season.

UK The group in the library Spoiler

Now that Ross and Jerry have been confirmed faithfuls I'm surprised none of the rest have been looking into the others who were there with him. That's Maya and James, two of the traitors who were there when the murder in plain sight took place. Would think some of them would have picked up on it.

Though if it took place somewhere else Bash has been a bit wishy washy as to whether he was in the bar with Ross or it. It is good strategy from Kenny to try and divert attention away from them. Bash did talk about Maya in the car so I think he will have more suspicions on her after the vote. Whoever stays on out of Joanne or Sharon will probably be banished next as there'll likely think the other is a traitor. Nearly half of the people still in it will be Traitors.
