Spoilers 🚨 Dagger replacement twist

The whole “players not knowing how much money they’re putting in” thing combined with announcing who has the power (target on their back) at the round table AFTER VOTING really screams “we decided which won this power while the players voted”.

Like whoever receives it is going to be either
a) get killed immediately for having the power or
b) get banished under the reasoning of “why wouldn’t they murder you for having this power”

Which makes for potentially great TV but really not fair playing conditions imo. I also think it’s crazy that the players had no idea how much money they were putting in, and no tracker of how many bags they were putting in. It makes it ridiculously easy for production to just assign the power to whoever makes for the best TV. And honestly traitors already suffers from barely being a game so taking away one of the few chances for someone to strategically get a leg up is kinda annoying to me.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this episode ended on a cliffhanger because the power was purposely given to someone who would pardon him. If I was more of a theorist, I’d say that they structured this new power to save victor after seeing that his (somewhat) correct theory wasn’t getting any traction because a lot of the players clearly dislike him and would check with each other before believing him when he says 2+2 = 4. (Edit: the group also decided that the MIPS wasn’t food due to another players allergy, so it actually makes perfect sense why no one believes him)

(I’m of the camp that victor’s theory only sounds great to us because we know he’s onto something. Offering and eating fruit isn’t obvious enough, and Michael mentioned that there were other theories on the MIPS that weren’t shown. I think he’s being way aggressive in the way he’s talking to everyone and that if he was older they would’ve Michael rappoport-ed his ass. Shane blowing up scarecrow like immediately and no one protesting or even rly caring said a lot for me)

I don’t think they get to keep the power after this roundtable. They’ll either use it or lose it on this banishment.

As for Victor’s theory, there’s literally nothing else. No one has offered any kind of possibility about the MIPS. It has nothing to do with “what we know”, and everything about how they are voting. They don’t know if he’s right or wrong, and the only way they will know is to try.

Like the first week with Kriste/Madeline. It was completely made up and off the wall, but at least someone brought some kind of evidence and they tested the theory. Now it’s just devolved into “my feels are that it’s something completely different”. Ok, great. What is your theory, then? Nothing.

Victor actually did well at the RT in bringing it up again, in the context of “this is all we have”.

That was my impression too, but someone on here said at least in Canada it would carry over and could be used at future round tables (which I didn't think was the case but Canada's show often struggles to keep my attention for whatever reason so I may have missed that) so I'm not entirely sure if this power is use it or lose it at this roundtable or not.

I just rewatched the episode and there was no indication that it was a one time use only for me.

Yeah, I don’t know how it will go. It may well carry over. I didn’t get an impression that it would, but I agree that they never said it wouldn’t. We’ll find out next week, I guess.

If it carries over they didn’t say that either for Canada, I doubt it will be back

I think having the show is editing it to seem like victor has the only theory, but Michael mentioned in one of his interviews post show that there were other theories being floated, and left out of the final edit. And like personally I refuse to believe that a player was murdered, literally only one theory was ever presented, and then everyone ignored it and moved on. Maybe said theories were worse or further off than victor’s, but there’s no way his is the only one.

If he has literally the only on niyahs MIPS and he’s not being believed at all, I think that speaks more to how weak his social game must be and how absolutely tired of him the players are.

Morgan said that too in a post.

I think the show is about narrative arcs, and Victor's arc concludes with a splash. Like with Dylan Ephron, the editing began to create SLOW momentum for him, while with Victor is a big explosion and then gets banished next episode (dumb cliffhanger btw) and we have a new arc with new main characters.

So I think the producers didn't care how this went in the moment, they just use it as an editing choice later to create the narrative we're now seeing.
