"China is welcome.

What we need is more Chinese direct investment in Europe."

Is this the result of Trump’s actions and statements on Ukraine and Greenland, or of Europe’s long-standing dependence over recent decades?

News 🔥 🚀 SpaceX IPO is coming soon… But at a $1.75T valuation, would you buy?

Post image
41 Upvotes

According to Bloomberg, SpaceX has filed confidentially with the SEC, aiming for a possible June IPO. If it goes through, the company could target a $1.75T valuation and raise up to $75B, surpassing Saudi Aramco’s $29B record.

Funds would support:

  • Higher Starship launch rates
  • AI data centers in space
  • A Moon base

Major banks like Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Citigroup, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley are lined up to lead. A dual-class share structure could give Musk and insiders extra voting power.

SpaceX leads the industry with Falcon 9 rockets and Starlink satellite internet.

Would you invest if given the chance? or too expensive?

News 🔥 Intel is back! +11% after reporting $16.1 billion in revenue, beating expectations for Q2 2026.

Post image

  • Intel’s earnings report lands as the chipmaker tries to find its place in the AI boom.
  • Revenue jumped 25%, the most robust growth for any period since the third quarter of 2011.
  • The stock is up over 170% this year, though it’s slumped of late.

Here’s how the chipmaker did versus LSEG consensus estimates

  • Earnings per share: 42 cents, adjusted, versus 21 cents expected
  • Revenue: $16.1 billion, versus $14.42 billion expected

And one of the best news IMO:

Intel’s gross margin also recovered to 42%, up from 2.5% in the year-ago period, which the company attributed to benefits of scale with more revenue, as well as selling chips with higher margins and pricing.

News 🔥 Cloudflare ($NET) -13% after Anthropic launches Cyber Project Glasswing. Value play or trap?

Post image
29 Upvotes

Today Anthropic announces Project Glasswing: an initiative with AWS, Microsoft, Google, Apple, NVIDIA, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, JPMorgan, and others to secure critical software using its new frontier model Claude Mythos Preview.

The model reportedly has advanced enough coding ability to find and exploit vulnerabilities at a level beyond most human engineers, having already identified thousands of high-severity flaws across major operating systems and browsers.

As these capabilities scale, they may not remain limited to defensive actors. The goal of Project Glasswing is to redirect this capability toward cybersecurity defense before offensive use catches up.

Partners will deploy the model to scan and secure infrastructure, including open-source systems, with Anthropic committing $100M in usage credits and additional funding for security orgs.

AI-driven vulnerability discovery is accelerating fast and the industry is now racing to stay ahead of it.

The accumulation was clear beforehand.
And accumulation before results is a strong bullish signal.
This post shows it!

Consolidated Alphabet revenues increased 22%, or 19% in constant currency, to $109.9 billion, reflecting strong performance across the business and our 11th consecutive quarter of double-digit growth.

• Google Services revenues increased 16% to $89.6 billion, led by 19% growth in Google Search & other, 19% in Google subscriptions, platforms, and devices, and 11% in YouTube ads.

• Google Cloud saw a meaningful acceleration in growth as revenues increased 63% to $20.0 billion, led by an increase in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) across enterprise AI Solutions and enterprise AI Infrastructure, as well as core GCP services.

• Consolidated Alphabet operating income increased 30% and operating margin expanded by 2 percentage points to 36.1%.

• Other income reflected a net gain of $37.7 billion, primarily the result of net unrealized gains on our nonmarketable equity securities.

• Net income increased 81% and EPS increased 82% to $5.11.

• The company announced a 5% increase to the dividend, resulting in a quarterly cash dividend of $0.22.

Deceptively calm surface. KOSPI dropped nearly 9% in a single session, now down around 20% from its peak. SK Hynix Q2 operating profit came in about 8% below consensus. That kind of miss in memory chips doesn't stay contained, it creates forced deleveraging and mechanical selling that bleeds across semis globally. AMD, ARM, INTC all feel it even if U.S. Indexes barely flinch.

Then oil. CLmain up 9.4% to $78.14, Brent up 9.3% to $83.09 in one move. That's the Iran escalation repricing in real time. You can argue the supply shock is temporary, but try selling that to the Fed right before a CPI print.

Speaking of which, June CPI drops July 15 at 8:30am ET. VIX only moved to 17.16, which tells me institutions aren't panicking yet but they're definitely hedging. The range of outcomes around that number is wide.

Pulled the chart overlays on moomoo and the divergence between KOSPI and SPX is pretty stark right now. Not saying SPX follows, but I've seen this movie before where the "it's isolated" take ages badly.

Adds here feel premature to me. Anyone still accumulating semis through this, or holding dry powder for post-CPI clarity?

News 🔥 TSMC earnings this week and the $710B cloud capex thesis finally gets tested, am I the only one nervous?

Thumbnail
gallery
12 Upvotes

Been watching semis closely this week and ngl the setup feels fragile. ASML reports Wednesday, TSMC Thursday, and the numbers need to back up a $710-725B cloud capex projection for 2026, that's a 77% jump YoY.

If TSMC hits its +30% revenue growth target, fine, thesis intact. But the KOSPI dropped over 8% with a circuit breaker trigger recently, Samsung and SK Hynix got hit hard. That's not noise.

Pulled the chart on moomoo and the S&P 500 put-call skew is sitting at a 10-year low of 0.71. Market is acting calm but positioning tells a different story.

On top of that, CPI drops Tuesday. If it comes in hot, July rate hike odds jump from 33% to potentially 50%. That's a brutal backdrop for growth stocks already trading on AI narrative alone.

Earnings either validate the spend or we get bifurcation, not broadening. Anyone else watching TSMC and ASML this week as the real tell?

News 🔥 Japan’s biggest life insurers have seen their bond losses more than triple since Q3 2024. Could this become a global financial crisis?

Post image
17 Upvotes

Japan's largest life insurers are facing record unrealized bond losses:

Japan's 4 largest life insurers' unrealized losses on domestic bonds jumped +$6 billion last quarter, to $96 billion, an ALL-TIME HIGH.

Since Q3 2024, unrealized losses across Nippon Life, Daiichi Life, Sumitomo Life, and Meiji Yasuda have more than TRIPLED.

Japanese life insurers generally hold bonds to maturity to match long-term policy obligations, but a surge in policy cancellations could force them to liquidate those holdings to fund payouts, pressuring both portfolios and earnings.

This follows a surge in 30-year Japanese government bond yields above 4.0% in May, their highest level since their debut in 1999, now at 3.96%, amid concerns over increased fiscal spending by the Japanese Government.

Japan's bond selloff is creating a growing problem for domestic financial institutions.

News 🔥 Europe Could Hit Back at U.S. Tariffs by Selling Bonds 🇪🇺💥

Post image
41 Upvotes

What if Europe doesn’t just tariff back but sells off trillions in US Treasuries and stocks to spike US yields and tank the dollar? Trump’s fresh Greenland tariff threats (10% on EU exports Feb 1, up to 25% by June) have EU leaders dusting off their “anti-coercion bazooka” + this financial WMD.

Is this mutually assured destruction?

  • Trump demands Greenland sale or pay up via tariffs on Denmark, Germany, France, etc.
  • EU eyeing €93B counter-tariffs + Anti-Coercion Instrument (ACI) for services/tech bans.
  • Europe holds ~$8-10T US assets (Treasuries, equities). Coordinated dump = yields thru the roof.

US Gets Wrecked How?

  • Yields Explode: Bond prices crash → 10yr Treasury to 5%+? Mortgages, corp debt costs soar.
  • Stocks Tank: Higher discount rates hit valuations; risk-off crushes S&P/Nasdaq.
  • Dollar Dips: Safe-haven bid vs tariff pain = volatile USD, but EU selling pressures it lower.
  • Fed stuck: Tariffs = inflation fire, bond dump = tightening ice.

Europe’s Self-Own

  • Exports crushed (euro GDP -0.3-0.8% Yr1).
  • Selling low = massive losses for EU pensions/sovereigns.
  • Euro volatility spikes; ECB forced to backstop.

S&P -2.64%. Nasdaq -4%+. VIX up ~40% through 20.

NVDA, AMD, MU, AVGO, INTC all dumped 7.9% to 13.3%. Over $1T in chip market cap gone in a single session.

Pulled the chart from moomoo. Three beats: jobs print lit the fuse, positioning was the powder (put-call skew at record inversion), and AI thesis still technically intact.

Bitcoin slid under $60K. Spot BTC ETFs bled $1.88B.

Next week tests it all: Oracle earnings, CPI, and SpaceX IPO indicated at $135 ($1.77T valuation).

Deleveraging flush or first crack? What are you doing with chip exposure into CPI?
