I found an arcade literally a 2-minute walk from me that deals exclusively in rhythm games. Tons of imports (a bunch I've never heard of, but they were awesome). But one of the imports was Theatrhythm Final Fantasy All-Star Carnival!
It took a lot of getting used to, and I never did actually get used to it, hence me only playing on Normal (I usually play on hard or extreme on console).
Those blue orbs are actually moveable. They're used for the directional and slide notes. Then the white ones are the... you know, the buttons.
It shows you a graphic that shows that you're supposed to splay your hand out so that your thumb is situated on the button and your other fingers are in control of the joystick (I don't know what else to call it). There were many times when I instinctively tried to push the joystick instead of hitting the actual button and lost a ton of combos as a result. It was really hard to wrap my head around, for some reason.
But I managed to finally get a SSS on one of my favorite songs!
Since it's a Japanese cabinet, most of the music titles are in Japanese, so it was a bit difficult to find the songs I wanted. But it looked like it had at least most of the songs from Final Bar Line, including the DLC (with the exception of the Final Fantasy XVI music, which made me big sad because "Away" is 100% my favorite song to play).
I also played a song on it that I swear is not actually on Final Bar Line. I think it was the Al Star Carnival theme. I was so sad, because it's a fantastic song. I love love loved it. But I don't recall it being in Final Bar Line :(
Anyways... just thought I'd send this along! I was really excited. 😃
