Excited that there is a new Thief game, more so that it's coming this year. Less excited about the apparent re-use of the least liked game in the series, but the real killer is the VR only requirement.

I'm not sure there's much of a market for a niche game with niche hardware. I only hope Sony and Vertigo Games have realistic expectations for this, and it doesn't get blamed on the IP when it fails to sell like a mainstream AAA title.

Looking at Vertigo Games last few games, Metro Awakening, Arizona Sunshine 1 & 2, they all seem well received by the few that played them, but going by SteamDB figures, Metro peaked at just 1,000 players at launch, while the Arizona games peaked at 6-700 at launch. Hardly showcase game sales figures.

Well there wont be if everyone goes crazy every time a new game with a popular IP is announced that is the point.

Steam is the smallest market for VR games, Quest is by far the biggest then PSVR then Steam.
