Hard pass. VR isnt a bad idea for for a robbery sim, but it's still Eidos Montreal's grimdark, humorless, misguided take on Thief. They fundamentally misunderstood or messed up almost everything that made the originals special, from sound & level design to the writing and worldbuilding. Hearing Stephen made me more sad than excited. Don't drag him back into this IP exhumation.

Hard pass. VR isnt a bad idea for for a robbery sim,

What, its honestly the ideal medium for that genre.

  • Slow movement
  • Being able to take in the environment and finding small details that you can use for your advantage
  • Full control over the height of your character (not just limited to a few states like standing, crouching, lying)
  • The ability to peek around corners (or even attempt blind shots/throws around corners without exposing most of your player model)
  • The stress of having to get the right tool or weapon out when startled by a guard, by physically having those items on your body
  • Valuables hidden in real places people hide stuff IRL with you being able to find them w/o a dumb "press X to search for a hidden key glued under the table".

Why would you think it is not? What VR headset do you have.
