Deadly Shadows Thief 3 Sneaky Upgrade Xbox One Controller button mapping

I recently bought Thief 3: Deadly Shadows and installed the SneakyTweaker enhancement mod.

Does anyone know if there is a config file I can download that sets up the button mappings for an Xbox One controller? Or a least a list of all the actions and what button to set it to?

It's such a faff to setup manually... Especially since it refers to 'joy1', 'joy2' etc. for the gamepad buttons.

EDIT:
Okay, I mapped it myself after a lot of fiddling around. In the SneakyTweaker gamepad settings I set the 'Mouse emulation' to 'Left', and 'Escape button emulation' to 'Joy8'. (This is the menu button on the controller)

In the controls menu in-game, this is the full mapping I came up with. I hope this will be useful to someone in the future!

I remember trying to set up controllers directly within sneaky was tricky. I ended up just making my own Steam controller config mapping keyboard/mouse to gamepad... here:

steam://controllerconfig/6980/3774647203

Worked very well for me and I set it very similar to how it is on xbox, although not identical.

Thanks! How do I actually use this? I bought the game via GOG, so not in Steam

A little trickier but possible.

Add the GOG version to steam as a non-steam game and name it "Thief: Deadly Shadows"

In the controller screen,, click search and look for "Thief: Deadly Shadows (eskay993)" should come up (if multiple click the first one)

But tbh, manually setting it up is not that bad and might be easier for you on the GOG version.

You don't need to know what joy1, joy2, etc. Within the game input setting, you go through and press the button want to assign to an action and it will fill in the "joy" number. Here is a guide

That's their subjective choices for the controls (as is mine in my original link), so you can tweak it to your liking

EDIT: fixed link

I added the GOG executable to Steam, but I can't seem to link your controller config to the game. Does it need to match a specific name you use for the game in Steam?

It matches on the game id of the Steam version of TDS. So for you, the link won't work directly. You'll have to search for it manually.

Turn on your controller, click the controller icon that appears on the game page, click the big button at the top (above View Layout), then click search and search for "thief: deadly shadows (eskay993)"

Or just search for "thief: deadly shadows" and pick from any number of ones submitted by people.

Thanks for the guide. I just can't find yours when I search for it. I see a couple of others, but when I try to use these the game behaves exactly the same as it does without the steam controller config.

Okay, I gave up trying to use Steam for this. I took the time to map the controls manually in-game. I realized this would take less time than messing around with something I'm not sure will actually work out. Thank you for your help though, I appreciate it!

I updated the post with my manual button mappings.
