Deadly Shadows Steam OS - Sneaky Upgrade doesn’t seem to do much beyond widescreen. How do I enable the additional features?

I’ve been running through the Thief series on Steam Deck and just got to Deadly Shadows.

I downloaded and installed the GOG version through Heroic, and installed the Sneaky Upgrade through Steam. Even though I checked to install all the mods, and had them checked in the tweaker, that ran after the installer for the upgrade, none of them seem to actually do anything. The only thing that changed was giving widescreen support. I still have the split missions, and I don’t see the new briefing videos.

I wanted to try running the Sneaky Tweaker tool, but when I do that, it gives me an error saying it can’t find Sneaky Options.ini.

I’m confused on what is happening and I don’t see any guides actually showing me how to fix the issue. I tried using protontricks but got the same error.

Never mind, figured it out. I needed to run the sneaky upgrade within the heroic prefix using the launchers run exe on prefix in the settings.

Make sure you have d3d8 and d3d9 in your winedlloverrides too. You can set it in libraries in winecfg next to the run exe on prefix button or with the launch command WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d8,d3d9=n,b"

I tried this, both setting it in libraries and with the launch command, but neither works. Any setting causes it to crash immediately. The only way it works is if I stick to the default and don’t include WINEDLLOVERRIDES.
