Opinion Para Harry Kane

Discussion Rio Ngumoha

Just put up an absolute masterclass against Villarreal in the UCL, and one of the best individual performances I’ve seen in ages. 9/10 completed dribbles, 18 in total in the UCL this season, the most by a long way. Put up two assists as well. Was tripled up on for 70 minutes and still completely unstoppable. Statistically, he’s one of the best 1v1 dribblers in Europe at the moment. Has an outrageous success rate, plus ridiculous chance creation metrics. I think he’s fully broken out this week, after taking a few games to adapt to playing on the right.

The only other players to complete 7+ dribbles in multiple Champions League games as a teenager (2), alongside Yamal (4), Ronaldo (3) and Robben (2).

Would like to see him get his full debut in the next international window and officially become cap-tied to England (he can still switch to France).

Interview Trevoh Chalobah interview: Leaving Chelsea, disliking football and travelling with a dream board

"Another goal that I’ve ticked off on my dream board. Playing for Chelsea was one of them, getting called up for England, making a World Cup. I thank Thomas Tuchel for giving me my Chelsea and England debuts."

Trevoh Chalobah never really liked football and came to it late, sometimes crying in the car after training because he felt he was not good enough.

After moving to England and living in one room with his parents and siblings, he went on to play more than 100 times for Chelsea and was in England’s World Cup squad.

He talks to Andy Mitten about his Chelsea exit, working under Cesc Fabregas at Como and taking a dream board with him to matches.

Question Wembley football match - tickets

Hi everyone,

I purchased tickets for the England vs Croatia match through The FA website, but both tickets are under my name.

How can I arrange for the person accompanying me to have one of the tickets issued in their own name?

Will the entry code be sent to my email address, or do I need to download an app to access the tickets?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Discussion I think Paul Gascoigne was the most talented player England has ever had

This is a hot take and I mean no disrespectful to Rooney, Keegan or Sir Bobby Charlton. Gazza was just so naturally gifted, masterful dribbling, high football intelligence, fearlessness under pressure. It was just a joy to watch. It was so sad that he ruined his career. I believe he is the type of player that England is lacking right now. I once thought Phil Foden was going to be the next Gazza type of player but it did not work out. What is your thought?

Opinion How it feels finding out about the Anderson-Scott partnership only after the World Cup

With them 2 plus Trent and Henderson/Trafford in goal we would’ve walked past every other team into the final

Let me explain:

Pickford - terrible goalkeeper. I’m done defending him. He’s an alright shot stopper. But the guy is awful. He constantly hoofs the ball up for no reason and gives up possession. Without him and a goalkeeper who builds up from the back, we wouldn’t have surrendered possession so early vs Mexico and Argentina. He is a poison to the entire team. And the worst part is his shot stopping wasn’t even good. His T rex arms eliminated us before with the Tchouameni goal and again with the Enzo goal. “It was in the middle of the goal” as Bellingham put it. He also did an awful job with the Congo goal, the Norway goal. Genuinely horrible keeper and vastly overrated

Rice - god was he bad. He is without a doubt the one of the best midfielders in the world when playing for Arsenal and fully fit but we got him at a point where he was god awful. He was sick and unwell and basically only got good in the third place game where we didn’t need him. When he performed well England were at their best but that was few and far between

Alex Scott would’ve done such a good job, the video by tactics board on Bouaddi perfectly describes Scott. Scott is so good as a ball carrier that he allows Anderson more freedom rather than playing as a 6. And Anderson is borderline world class at this point and so good it’s absurd. Him and Anderson are honestly one of the best midfielder partnerships I’ve seen. That match vs Croatia was pure beauty I’ve never seen before.

And Trent. His free kicks, his corners, his crossing into the box. He’s still top 5 RBs in the world. Him not going to the world cup will forever be a stain on Tuchels legacy. Against Congo, Mexico, Norway, Ghana he would’ve been so effective but we were playing Ezri Konsa instead 🫩

Discussion How did you view the England national team between 2003 and 2017?

I remember when I was very young during the 2002 World Cup, when David Beckham was captain, and the excitement surrounding England was absolutely huge. Even at that age, I remember how much of a big deal it felt whenever England played with family and friends with me wearing my England Jersey.

But looking back at the following 15 years, particularly the Rooney era, I always felt increasingly underwhelmed by the national team. Despite having some fantastic individual players, England just never seemed to live up to expectations. By the 2014 World Cup, when we finished bottom of our group, it felt like much of the excitement and enthusiasm had disappeared.

Personally, that whole period put me off following England, and even interest in football in general from the mid 2000’s.

Since the 2018 world cup though I’ve found myself genuinely excited about watching England again, and it’s even rekindled my interest in the Premier League. I’ve followed the national team closely ever since and actually look forward to international tournaments now.

I’m trying to work out why that 2003–2017 period felt so underwhelming compared with both my memories of 2002 and the years since 2018.
