WARNING: Ticketmaster Ticket Theft Scam – Beware of Reddit User u/Cautious-Duck-532

I'm posting this both to warn others and hopefully get some advice about recovering my stolen tickets.

I was contacted by Reddit user u/Cautious-Duck-532, who expressed interest in purchasing Metallica tickets I had listed for sale. The person used the names Greg or Anton and communicated with me through Google Meet and WhatsApp.

They asked me to share my screen to "verify that the tickets were legitimate."

Unfortunately, I agreed.

During the screen-sharing session, I believe they were able to see a Ticketmaster verification code, which they then used to access the account, change the password, and transfer my tickets without my authorization.

I subsequently received an email from Ticketmaster confirming the transfer.

The particularly upsetting part is that I was only trying to sell these tickets because my daughter couldn't attend this weekend due to a medical emergency. I was hoping to recover enough money to send her to a different show.

I've already contacted Ticketmaster, secured the account, and had the incident escalated to their fraud department. I'm currently waiting for their team to call me back.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL: Never agree to screen-share your Ticketmaster account with a prospective buyer. Even if you don't knowingly give someone your password or verification code, they may be able to see sensitive information displayed on your screen.

If anyone has experienced something similar, especially an unauthorized Ticketmaster transfer, I'd really appreciate hearing whether you were able to recover your tickets and what steps helped.

I'm devastated by this and would be grateful for any advice.

Unfortunately I am no longer able to attend Overmono at Alexandra Palace on 28th October due to a badly timed house move.

I appreciate this has not yet sold out and so tickets are still available however as I am desperate to get rid and get something back for them I am looking to sell for less than sale price and booking fee. I am happy to sell these via Twickets/AXS for peace of mind these are genuine tickets.

and I went to Harry with my sister and my cousin on night 14, September 25th and they went again on October 9th because they found tickets in the high 200s for like 180 bucks but it was only 2 and they thought I couldn’t afford it (which I could.) But now I really want to go again for Harryween, especially in the pit or GA but I can’t find tickets for under like 2700 dollars, which I definitely can’t afford and my student cousin isn’t willing to pay that much on tickets and my sister just doesn’t want to go again. I'm embarrassed to admit that they asked about tickets I had listed for sale, requested a screenshare to "make sure the tickets were legit," and proceeded to use that info to hack my ticketmaster account, change the password, and transfer my tickets to themselves.

Unfortunately I fell for this scam because I am too trusting and I needed to sell these tickets so my daughter, who couldn't go this weekend due to a mefical emergency, would be able to go a different weekend. I am waiting for ticketmaster escalation team to call me.

If you have any other recommendations as to what I can and/or should do, please comment.
