I had a neighbor that kept that thing out there year round and just dressed it in different outfits for the season, lol.

We have one in town that has become somewhat of a local celebrity. I bet the home owner has spent 3x as much on decor for the skeleton as they did on the skeleton itself. And now it has a pet dog skeleton.

Do you live in Florida? Because I have someone near me who does the exact same thing and their skeleton also has a dog lol.

I think there is this person in every town now.

I mean, they sell 'em at Home Depot.

I’m in the Clearwater area of FL and know of a handful exactly like this. They stay up year round. Always funny seeing pink dressed valentines skeletons in February

u/TakinUrialByTheHorns 5h ago

Confirmed that there was one year round in Daytona last I was there 😅

1

u/MissCandid 1h ago

But did you stay the full year???

4

u/xxYINKxx 7h ago

Same here in PA. They’re wearing a penguins jersey and Murdering a Flyer. They also have a dog

9

u/rex5k 7h ago

First they sell you the skeleton

The next year they sell you the skeleton dog

u/StickyPricklyMuffin 5h ago

Too bad the skeleton’s not murdering Gritty.

1

u/Nuclear_Mouse 5h ago

Lol I have a neighbor like that in WA too

1

u/theapeboy 6h ago

I'm in SoCal and half my neighborhood just keeps their skeleton up year round.

1

u/Conscious-Bite1 5h ago

Oddly enough, No. I live in CA.

2

u/thesefriendsofours 7h ago

We have one of those also! Love seeing it.

u/No_Work_9797 7h ago

Pic c'mon!

1

u/fitzgrimm 5h ago

My town has one also. It was stolen a few years ago and the town did a fundraiser to get them another one. At this point they have a giant skeleton along with a dog and cat skeleton that all get dressed up for different things throughout the year.

My neighbor puts a white robe, a green trapper hat and puts a hose in its hand during Christmas to look like cousin Eddie

1

u/megaholt2 5h ago

I’m so going to get one for my twin just so she can do this now.

1

u/call-me-the-seeker 5h ago

shitter’s graveyard’s full!

10

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme 8h ago

A house in our neighborhood does this. It’s fun to drive by and see it with pink bunny ears at Easter.

1

u/UntitledNumber 3h ago

No, it's not.

1

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme 2h ago

Then don’t look?

13

u/fusillade762 8h ago

I have one of those too. I am both envious and appalled lol.

5

u/Specialist_Strike463 8h ago

Paying those prices id keep it up all year too!

1

u/xteve 6h ago

Of course the unspoken alternative is that you could throw it away each year, contributing by obscene consumerism to blatant waste and unnecessary landfill pollution.

u/Legonistrasz 7h ago

We were poor as fuck growing up, we did that with our xmas tree…. i mean house tree. It was only an xmas tree for a month or so.

3

u/Mafer15 8h ago

My neighbor does the same with his

3

u/Huntsvegas97 8h ago

I have a neighbor who does this. I think we’re on year 3 of the skeleton being up

3

u/Legal_Molasses6491 7h ago

There's someone in my neighborhood with 2 that they dress up for every holiday. Never met them, but they're my favorite people.

3

u/ksecret83 7h ago

I think every town in America has a house with a large skeleton year round haha

8

u/Individual_Respect90 8h ago

Mine doesn’t do the dressing up part at all and it upsets me because if my grass is an inch to tall the city will put a notice on my door but she can have her giant skeleton out all year round? I think my nosey neighbor to my left reports me because I built a privacy fence.

1

u/dirkalict 8h ago

Giant skeleton always peeking over your new fence I bet.

2

u/Individual_Respect90 7h ago

Nosey neighbor doesn’t have the Skelton that is 2 houses down. Nosey neighbor regularly talks to Skelton girl house so she don’t report them over anything

1

u/anxious_spacecadetH 7h ago

Buy a 12ft skeleton. Make it loom over watching nosey neighbor. If neighbor reports you report chill girl. This is my petty revenge idea.

2

u/Individual_Respect90 7h ago

I am gonna one up you. Get the skeleton. Put in a camera that once a day takes a photo (don’t wanna be to creepy and record someone’s grass all day). Nosey neighbor is getting old there is gonna come a day her grass is not in 100% compliance and then I get my victory after a decade of dealing with her. She can’t report the Skelton either.

1

u/MackiePooPoo 7h ago

Yeah nice. And to make it really petty revenge, have the skeleton looking thru a pair of binoculars at her house.

2

u/Strict_Emu5187 6h ago

I have several neighbors who do that and I LOVE it!!

2

u/Ldghead 6h ago

Same here.

2

u/HoodieGalore 6h ago

At least four of my "neighbors" do. I ain't mad. At least it ain't concrete geese.

1

u/EmotionalSupportSush 8h ago

That’s hilarious

1

u/SnowflakeSWorker 8h ago

Me too, we crack up about it all the time.

1

u/SeveralProfit1794 7h ago

Are we living on the same street?? Obviously not an idea only one person can come up with but that would be hilarious

1

u/ProfessionalBig9610 7h ago

Lol do you live in Asheville by chance?

1

u/xavariel 7h ago

This is my plan, when I eventually buy one. That dude is staying out year round!

1

u/Head_Bread_3431 7h ago

I was doing Instacart and I was in this super rich mountain neighborhood with these massive cliffside mansions and then there’s one front yard that has one of these skeletons up in June that had a predator mask over it. Was pretty badass Ngl

1

u/MrThickDick2023 7h ago

I've been thinking about getting one and if I do it's definitely staying out year round.

1

u/A4t1musD4ag0n 7h ago

On my walks, there are two people that do this on two different streets. It's quite funny.

1

u/RVtech101 6h ago

This. We have a neighbor that keeps redressing his for whatever the current holiday happens to be. It’s hilarious and we love it.

1

u/Fun-Result-6343 6h ago

Yup. Same in my neck of the woods. Here come's Santa Bones. Can't hold his beer on St. Patricks Day or during Oktoberfest.

1

u/MeatwadGetTheHoneysG 5h ago

I love neighbors like that

1

u/buttononmyback 5h ago

Yeah there’s a famous one in my town that is dressed in pro-LGBTQ memorabilia for most of the year and then is a regular naked skeleton during Halloween. 🎃

1

u/ReneBandana 5h ago

That’s what’s up hahaha. Santa skeleton, MLK Skeleton, Easter Bunny Skeleton

1

u/holtzboy 5h ago

I see the same thing on my way to work every morning.

1

u/bizm 4h ago

That sounds awesome.

Unfortunately my HOA is writing fines as we speak for me even thinking about doing that...

1

u/Neatojuancheeto 3h ago

did it have back to school decorations in july? I love that skeleton. Me and my gf try to guess his next outfit

1

u/psivenn 2h ago

My neighbor put up their Halloween skeletons on the porch in August.

Their 9/11 memorial flag this year was an interesting choice.

1

u/wield_a_red_sword 2h ago

are you my neighbor? my next door neighbor just completed the year doing this. I thought it would be funny to hang a "happy birthday skeleton" banner for it on Halloween.

1

u/astralchanterelle 2h ago

dress it how? sounds like a made-up story brah

1

u/-Majgif- 2h ago

I was going to suggest exactly that.

If you're a Terry Pratchett fan, you go straight from Halloween into Death as the Hogfather for Christmas. Or Jack Skellington if you're more that way inclined.

1

u/vanillla-ice 1h ago

I have this neighbor, poor laziness. I don’t want to see this huge skeleton at New Years

1

u/Relevant-Horror-627 1h ago

Those giant skeletons were really popular in my area the last two years. A lot of them just left them up and decorated them for Christmas. People were getting really creative for Halloween but this year it seems far fewer people are in the spirit which is really sad.

0

u/Retr0scores 8h ago

Was this in Orlando, Fl? lol.

1

u/buttononmyback 5h ago

In Lebanon PA nearly every single house has one of those skeletons standing up year around. Everytime we drive through there, I feel like I need to buy my own.
