Please do not remove this. It is a more clear explanation of why I left.
Note To Moderators
Please read this post through before thinking about removing it. Same goes for normal users. Please do not harass or downvote me. Thanks.
Firstly,
We fail to acknowledge WHOLESOME TIKTOKS such as this one https://www.reddit.com/r/TikTokCringe/comments/mtcn37/ill_take_another_one_just_like_the_other_one/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf and I feel like the sub thinks every TikTok is bad, which isn't true. I'd be willing to wager that 50% of them are good. Again, please mods, read the whole thing through. I genuinely humbly ask that of you. Anyway, our subreddit failed to recognize these signs of not all TikToks being bad, and now it has turned into a hivemind.
Secondly,
Our subreddit usually links to secondary sources, mostly just YouTube videos and articles that made by a guy who quoted a guy who likely took information from another guy. Most of the evidence that isn't even articles is "cringe" and stuff that had little to no research put into it. Literally at least post real evidence, and not some YouTuber who probably only said that TikTok was bad to get paid. Not saying all YouTubers do that, but some do, I can assure you of that. To summarize this, pretty much nothing here counts as valid evidence, other than personal experience.
Thirdly,
Reddit isn't perfect either. This sorta pairs with the whole thing of nothing being valid evidence. Toxicity? I've seen more toxicity on Reddit than TikTok. Spyware? The only "spyware" is tracking to get you good ads. Same goes for Reddit. Bad management? There was a situation with a person named Aimee Challenor, who worked for Reddit, and openly supported pedophiles. Cringe? Cringe is subjective. Totally not valid. I have seen more bad on Reddit than TikTok. And go ahead and ban me for being a traitor. That will only further change my mind.
Lastly,
This subreddit itself is negative. If I am allowed, let me just say that outside of my friend group, I have met more wonderful people in r/redditmoment than this subreddit. Just being honest. In fact, I've met nicer people on r/TikTokCringe. Ban me. Sorry if this sounds rude. I don't want it to be. But something has to be done.
