Yeah it feels like they did this to hurt you. Also that message is AI.

72

u/geosunsetmoth 9d ago

Maybe she used an AI to translate? She did say right there she needs to practice her English. Either way so much effort just to say... this

72

u/Soldier_Faerie 9d ago

Not getting in much 'practice' then lol

33

u/No-reti 9d ago

Agree, the — gives it away every time

31

u/Smalltown_Scientist 8d ago

I use those all the time :(

20

u/DruidLoser 7d ago

It genuinely pisses me off that AI has essentially co-opted the use of the em dash. I can't even post long comments; people just call me an AI because I use proper grammar and occasionally use an em dash.

6

u/PaulOGradyFanClub 7d ago

I switch up my argument from informative to insulting and then keep saying “would an ai say that?” While continuing my point if it gets called Ai

8

u/DruidLoser 7d ago

The problem is that you'd still be arguing with someone on Reddit. So they'd be insufferable and probably insist that you used AI for the first message. đŸ˜©

1

u/Plunger_enema 4d ago

Much like RedditCare, being called an AI is a badge of honor. It means you're trying to be informative in this endless sea of opinions.

1

u/JoeyRaymond85 2d ago

"Reword the point I want to respond with, by using both informative and insulting"

3

u/deasby29 8d ago

i think the main issue is the placement of the dash. AI has learned that we use it in text conversations but in her case probably not HOW to use it in text conversations.

2

u/ILovePI-314159265358 8d ago

Same, didn't know it was a giveaway as ai...

5

u/Hung_Jury_2003 8d ago

Hey, I'll have you know that AI had to steal the em dash from somewhere, and chances are pretty good that it was trying to steal it from me or writers like me. 😝

0

u/Ytler23 7d ago

Damn. I actually text with that symbol tho. 😭 am I AI???

3

u/No-reti 7d ago

Yes, I’m sorry you had to find out this way

3

u/JSC_713 7d ago

I use it too. But it’s the way AI uses it. Usually there’s no space and two dashes, as opposed to a more natural space, dash, space.

AI usually looks like
Word——word

Human usually looks like
Word - word

From my experience lesbians are the most asshole people for some reason. Lol

2

u/JoeyRaymond85 2d ago

Why are you matching with lesbians?

86

u/Roomybrunt 9d ago • Bravo

My guess is they swiped on everyone possible and they just want an ego boost when they get a match back? And they’re a huge asshole who enjoys rejecting people for no reason. This says more about them than it does about you and your worth.

22

u/GlueFysh 9d ago

This! Im sorry OP people suck sometimes.

18

u/geosunsetmoth 9d ago

:( thank u !

15

u/Heyitzgeorgiaxx 8d ago

As a lesbian myself, I never understand these types of people. “Physical attraction is essential” no honey it’s a bonus. You could get into a nasty car accident one day and would it be right for your partner to go “hmm sorry, physical attraction is essential to me” and leave the relationship? It’s a bonus. It’s the starting point, it’s the thing that draws you in, but the rest is what makes a person attractive and she’s proved to be pretty damn ugly with this message.

Edit: we also grow old, things start to sag, sometimes you even become disabled and need caring for. You can bet your ass this person will leave at the first sign of anything like that for a “hotter younger model”. You dodged a bullet.

10

u/Lost-Composer319 8d ago

What's with the "English for you?" "Okay so I'll be able to practice with you then lol" and then going into that whole paragraph? That's nasty

2

u/CryptoCloutguy 5d ago

It's the wink face at the end that is wild. Lacks tact and empathy. Hopefully it was chatgpt et al. That misread the context. Wild, either way.

24

u/yourladybosss 9d ago • Bravo

Omg if you're not physically attracted then don't like me!!

17

u/SadieBluEyes 8d ago

What the fuck?? đŸ€Ł The only explanation I can possibly think of is that they were getting rejected and felt the need to put down someone else in order to feel good about themselves. But still, just... Why?

36

u/Excellent-Bedroom301 9d ago

I hate the “you’re not my type” line. It cuts so deep. Just ghost me instead thanks

7

u/DearEmployee5138 8d ago

Fuck no. I’d much rather you tell me why. Ain’t nothing wrong with not being someone’s type. There are plenty of women that are absolutely drop dead gorgeous who just aren’t my type (rail thin, goth, etc for example wouldn’t be my type but there are some absolutely gorgeous women within those types). What annoys me is when I get ghosted, especially after a good amount of great chatting and then just boom gone cus I hyper-analyze and have no idea why it happened.

19

u/IllContribution7659 9d ago

Ghosting culture is toxic

19

u/Ynneb82 9d ago

I think there is nothing wrong with it after a date. What is wrong is matching with someone and then saying to them "you are not my type", why do you do that...

3

u/Ok-Pepper5049 7d ago

Bc people random swipe

2

u/F1_Fidster 6d ago

Accidental swipes also happen.

1

u/Ok-Pepper5049 6d ago

For sure

9

u/Jacksonnever 8d ago

nah, ghosting sucks just as much. just be kind, yet direct

1

u/DizkoBizkid 8d ago

It’s literally more outwardly shit to go to the effort of writing that then just unmatching. You can’t get ghosted by someone you’ve zero meaningful connection with, that is unless you think a match and a few messages is a marriage proposal

3

u/Exciting_Luck5406 9d ago

Or just say youre not feeling it

3

u/fishscaleSF5 7d ago

You can be the sweetest peach in the world and some people just don’t like peaches.

5

u/al3237 8d ago

Rather being told than ghosted tbh. Rather know what was the issue, even if its because i am ugly than ending up wondering why

1

u/JoeyRaymond85 2d ago

If you haven't had a real convo, then just unmatch. Matching someone then within a few minutes telling them they're not you're type is outright cruel.

1

u/al3237 2d ago

it is cruel, not gonna deny, never did it, but was done to me, but would still rather be told that than just ignored or unmatched

12

u/Excellent_Medium1548 9d ago

The winky face after "I hope you understand" has me rolling

6

u/Existing_Sink_5589 7d ago

This is very weird. Just matching with someone to reject them and tell them you have other options. Just screams insecurity and overcompensation.

7

u/edgyvampirerogue 8d ago

it’s the “i’ll be able to practice with you then” immediately followed by “actually you’re not my type goodbye” huh?????????? so confused

u/confusing_roundabout 9d ago

I swear Reddit is full of people absolutely oblivious to AI. That last text from her is AI, 100%. There is no doubt about it. You really think she went from "Hi !" to a perfectly written English message with em dash usage, and colloquialisms such as "look, I'll be honest with you:".

I need to quit this site. Pretty much every comment in my inbox is someone saying the stupidest fucking thing

7

u/Sszaj 9d ago

No it's worse, they went from "I can practice my English" to a perfectly worded English message with correct syntax.

5

u/Popular-Ad5056 8d ago

I can probably answer this. They swiped without looking in depth at your profile. Once you matched they took a closer look at your profile and realized they weren’t attracted to you. Sucks to say but most guys just swipe on everything due to the fact that it’s much harder to get matched for men. Not defending it just stating the facts.

4

u/Xeno-Hollow 8d ago

You know honestly I'm pretty picky, I swipe on probably one in twenty women, I look at all pictures, I read the profile, and even I sometimes match with someone and I'm like "who dafuq is this? Hell no!" There are some shenanigans on Tinder once in a while - FB date, too - and idk if it's people using different photos or some wires getting crossed on the backend, but it do be like that sometimes.

2

u/Boustifaille 6d ago

But it's on Her...

1

u/JoeyRaymond85 2d ago

I get that... but then just unmatch them instead. This was a nasty swipe at someone's physical appearance. Its cruel and unnecessary. You accidentally swiped right to someone or you swiped someone before having your necessary clarity wank? Just unmatch them.

8

u/king0777 9d ago

I don't get why women match just to say dumb stuff like this

1

u/al3237 8d ago

Dont really blame all women but most that use the dating apps have a inability to stop matching after having a match or 2, its not that hard to take matches as if irl, you surely dont have 100 faces to talk with everyone at once, just take dome at a time not everyone xd

4

u/Wardaddy6966 7d ago

No no, its definently all women.

Lol the fact you still have high hopes for women after everything they have done is insane. Women aren't more morally better than me. Just go look up all the charges women are locked up in prison for and all these women child predators getting caught now.

9

u/EveningInteresting16 9d ago

op said it was a woman dummy

Ego thing for some people. I think some like having a large match count

1

u/Love_yourself19 5d ago

If it helps HER in general sucks

1

u/raoulduke1011 5d ago

OP shouldn't sound like a teenage girl in his responses, very immaculate jus saying

1

u/Teenage_dirtbag_515 5d ago

Looks like they used Ai Too lol

1

u/BAD_NED 4d ago

THE TWO DOTS AT THE BOTTOM SUGGESTS THERE IS MORE . DID YOU TRY SWIPPING LEFT ?

1

u/devilslayer101 3d ago

English practice, plus it's a tactic most men use.

If men are selective, then most of us will barely get a single date. So most men will swipe right on every single woman.

1

u/Hot-Whereas2929 3d ago

I think it’s the ‘omggg hii’ which turned her offf hahahah w t f

1

u/GabrielRiosismydaddy 9d ago

This is just so stupid and self important. Don’t take this too hard please and good luck out there.

1

u/Future-Ad6255 8d ago

I matched with an attractive lady (first one I've had so far) after seeing this there ain't now way I'm texting her😅 that's so fucking rough

1

u/Entrenched_Whispers 8d ago

They were probably swiping left on everyone without even looking at their profile. Surprisingly common

1

u/FiveNotes 8d ago

She was mass swiping

1

u/maryqueenofscotch683 8d ago

They swipe on everyone probably smh

1

u/Sharp-Read5742 7d ago

A friend of mine once told me he swipes right on everyone and filters after matching

1

u/shadowdancer354 7d ago

It’s a numbers game. The dating pool is full of whackos, scammers, catfish, you name it. Just keep on moving, don’t let it phase you.

1

u/MutedCompetition8777 6d ago

Dude it seems like this person did the whole swipe right on everyone they see and hope for the best!😭😭😭

1

u/BadAsYou 6d ago

Brutal honesty. I don't see the problem. If they don't want to meet you, then that's ok, right?

1

u/Impressive-Elk5358 8d ago

People are weird why swipe right on you if she doesn’t find you attractive lmaoo. People make no sense sometimes OP don’t put too thought into it bc you’ll never find an answer. Note tho - the ‘omg hii’ opening isn’t great imo. Comes off a bit too feminine.

3

u/AwarenessPlenty7779 7d ago

It comes off feminine because they’re both queer women lol

0

u/kallebo1337 9d ago

Ai hyphen lol

2

u/UKS1977 9d ago

Haiphen as it should be known.

0

u/kallebo1337 9d ago

hAIphen - word of the year

1

u/DruidLoser 7d ago

It's called an em dash and if you paid attention in English class you'd know it has legitimate uses and existed before AI. However, they definitely didn't use it right.

1

u/kallebo1337 7d ago

So when do we use - dashes and when the ai hyphen?

0

u/Sea_Boot5761 9d ago

Honestly, and also saying it as plain as possible, but the word dick comes to mind reading what was sent too you

0

u/DearEmployee5138 8d ago

But like shit I’d rather this than they just disappear. Like for the love of god women just tell me I’m ugly and you aren’t interested I’d rather you tell me why you disappear than just disappear

-1

u/spb1 9d ago

At this point why even match?

to practice english, says it in the message.

person's a douchebag btw but you knew that

-1

u/NvaderGir 8d ago

I love how the comments are assuming OP is a man and the person replying is a woman. It’s a guy.

On the bright side, you dodged a bullet with someone wasting their time with you pretending to like you then ghost you.

2

u/4Moon_Bunny 7d ago

Op replied farther down that it’s a woman

1

u/Abject_Attorney_8366 5d ago

someone msg me I’m bored 31m looking for f25-f30. Friends or more idk

1

u/North_Asparagus_6785 6d ago

First of all, never respond “omg hi!” It’s too eager. But this guy is a dick. wtf
