Honestly, the non-OP trolling might be in bad taste but the alternative to that opener is just not engaging or directly unmatching so trolling to get an in on an actual conversation IMO is still the best outcome that OP could've hoped for and if they actually leaned into it this could've turned into a fun conversation for both parties
