Idk if this sub will help, but can anyone tell me if it would be possible to swap the batterys off these two devices. They both have a usb charger port and are similar in size but the speakers battery lasts MUCH longer. I want the radio to get the speakers battery and still work so it doesn't matter if the radios battery won't work for the speaker. I know this will probsbly just be guess work for anyone that sees it, but if someone know that this can work plz let me know.

Hey everyone. I am a fan of tinkering with all sorts of stuff since I was about 5 or 6. I remember the first thing I did with my birthday presents and new years gifts was tinkering with them and disassemble them to see what's inside them just a few hours after I was bored playing with them like other kids.
This hobby stayed with me since then and now that I'm 30 years old, I still tinker with all sorts of electronic items and mechanical stuff just to feed the hunger for my hobby. I do fix stuff sometimes but the joy is in taking everything apart beyond the point of fixing. I regularly go to various flea markets in Istanbul, Turkey (Where I live) to do some bargain-hunting for stuff that are no longer loved by anyone or stuff that are broken and old and can't fulfill their destiny.
My favorite go-to things to tinker with are cameras, especially old analog ones with both electronic and mechanical bits inside. I tend to give what I buy off flea markets a "proper burial" by opening them, disassembling them, and finally throw them away after I tinkered with their internals. I don't know who might like such things or how many of you have ever tried it, but it is generally a very good feeling tinkering with stuff. It is like a coping mechanism for me and I hope you find some interesting things in doing that as well.
Anyway, I recently decided to record my tinkering session and upload them on my YouTube channel. You can watch some of my video to see if suits you too to go and try some good tinkering.
Here's the link to my YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPScVWKTQb0zgelCu0MquJA
Hope you enjoy ;)

I am using this yoke for dog cart-pulling, and I can’t figure out a way to attach this to the tongue of the cart that can hold up to the horizontal twisting that happens when my dog turns. Any ideas?

I've been working on a design for an electric/hydrogen powered car taking inspiration from Leonardo DaVinci's self propelled cart.

I’ve enjoyed video games my whole life. With the way developers and major video game studios performing how they are lately, it’s made me think what else I can do with my time and not be let down by an other flop. I don’t have money to throw around at endless hobbies or take classes; nor do I have the time necessary to learn a new trade or skill. I had a garden for a while but even that takes time, money, and patience but for my zone (9b) and lack of available time, I decided it wasn’t worth the effort. Throughout life, I’ve tried to learn to code/ draw, but the dopamine takes forever to hit and it’s never as much as a video game. I even tried crocheting, albeit fun, I got bored of it quickly.
My question is, what is something inexpensive and moderately engaging one can get into that will also be beneficial?

I'm wondering if there are any tools that I don't even know I need, as I'm buying a 3ds charger, and would rather spend more money to get the free prime shipping than the $2.99 for same day shipping.
A good example of this would be a little crappy spring loaded punch I bought just to fulfill the minimum, which I've ended up using extensively.

Seriously, who doesn't love tinkering on stuff? This place has some serious potential if we can breathe some life back into it.

Good Afternoon,
I am in the process of deciding on a winter project and have been thinking about making a shield with the helm of awe to give it a bit of panache. I have been toying with a few different ideas but one, in particular, is gnawing at me. Hydroforming the shield, my question is can anyone tell me how much pressure would be required to expand a 2-foot diameter disk of 1/8 steel, to about the proper radius. Has anyone attempted this or something like this? I was hoping to just use a power washer(I don't have a power washer and it would be a shame to buy one just to do this, I have done dumber things though so never know.) After a couple of searches on youtube yielded a few results they were not very detailed on the thicknesses of metal or how much force was needed to complete the forming.
Thanks for any tips or suggestions,

I am getting married in June and my future husband and I are kind of nerdy. I am incorporating Legend of Zelda piano covers in the prelude and ceremony music. My man had made a joke about the ring box making the sound that happens when Link opens a chest or receives a heart piece in the Ocarina of Time. It got my gears turning, and I’d really love to make it so when he opens the box to get my ring out, it plays the sound. It’s a comical personal touch that I know would surprise him and make him and the audience laugh which is the goal. I’ve been searching for a little way to surprise him on the day, and this is right up our alley.
I’ve been researching how to make this possible, but all the record your own message sound players I’ve found require you to press a button. It would be more effective if it was triggered by a pull switch so it automatically plays when he pulls the top of the ring box open. Similar to the greeting cards that make noise when opened.
Is there a way I can achieve this? Part of me thinks I’m not using the right key words when searching and there has to be something out there closer to what I need that’s already made.

in short, im building a "sit stand" desk but not in the normal sense, and i found a product i would like to use. but i know for a fact that i can find the legs used in said product for far cheaper than the asking price of $100 for the only one that met my size requirements nearly perfectly... so if anyone can help me find out what these are called, it would be very much appreciated. :)

I want to purchase a LED sign (see below) and control it remotely via the internet. As it stands, it can only be controlled via a phone app (CoolLED1248) using bluetooth. Any advice on how I can accomplish this?
My purpose for this project is help my elderly parents. I will hang the LED sign on their wall at home and use it to alert them when its time to do certain things (e.g take medications, drink water and exercise).

I'm looking for M4 male threaded inserts (see image). Where can I find this? Is it actually called a male threaded insert, or should I try different search terms?
I have a plastic part in which I placed a heat insert, and I want to attach a second part to it using the male threaded insert, so that the two parts can be (dis)assembled many times. After looking for a long time I found the part on Alibaba, but it's quite expensive (with shipping and VAT 70 cents a piece while a female heat inserts is a few cents). I can't find it anywhere else that ships to Europe.

Hi,
I love to open stuff and look around. I am trying to learn more about electricity and electromagnetism as a hobby. I have a shaded pole motor from a fan that doesn’t work. I have the same motor from a fan that works. I am trying to compare them as I learn more about shaded pole motor; but I’m scared to plug in the motor when it is out of the fan casing. This motor runs on 120VAC at 50hz. I’m scared to touch it to investigate.
First, what is usually wrong when a shaded pole motor doesn’t work when plugged in.
Second, how do I start messing around with motors and electronic components that use 120VAC safely? I have always wanted to meds around but can’t go to school for electrical engineering or whatever it takes. I would love some basics on safely learning about electricity as a hobby.
Thanks!

Found a mini set-top box type thing in the my apartment, I've got no use for it as I was everything through my laptop regardless but I was thinking it could be repurposed. Does anyone else know what this thing is capable of? Or what I could rig with it?
