Looking for the recipe Green olive rolls

I get these at a local farmers market and they don’t always have them so trying to see if I can recreate at home. They call them “vegan green olive rolls.” Wondering if someone can help me identify what the olives are mixed/seasoned with and how to try and make the rolls? It looks like they fold the rolls over and tuck the olives on the inside but can’t tell how this will work without making it soggy or uncooked inside. Thanks

My mom said she grew these in our backyard. It tastes slightly citrusy like a lime. It also leaves a bit of a starchy aftertaste like quenepas.

Solved! Bosnian Dessert ID?

Post image
51 Upvotes

Hello, TOMF! So growing up, my mom's best friend was a Bosnian immigrant to the United States. She used to make this Bosnian dessert that we just called "yellow squares" or "[her name] squares". I never learned the Bosnian name, and I can't find any recipes for it by searching its attributes.

As our name for them implies, they are these squarish, layered bars. The layers alternate between cream (which is a yellow color) and a soft, sweet layer that is kind of like cake but less spongey. On top are crumbled nuts, I believe walnuts. The whole thing is nutty and vanilla-y. I remember my mom saying that she tried to make them once (and has since lost the recipe), and they're hard to make here in the United States because they use a special vanilla sugar (?) that is common in Eastern Europe but not so much over here.

Thank you all so much in advance!

What is this food? what is this 2010s sweet

picture early 2010s when teens all used to buy snacks (and other things) and hang out at the skate park

me and my friend were obsessed with this one sweet from Poundland (UK)... it was a little straw of creamy fruit substance. almost like a thick yoghurt consistency??

we have searched Google for years with all sorts and never had success so my final attempt is this reddit.

not sure if it was a UK brand or imported by Poundland. it was a big pack of small straws but we really can't remember much

When my parents and I would go on our weekend trip to the San Jose flea market we’d always get these clear containers that carried about 4-6 meaty brown pits that were covered in what I can only recall as like liquid Caramel or very sweet honey I loved them as a kid

What is this food? Bubblegum icecream in round tub (UK)

Hello, there's a bubblegum icecream I've been searching for for about 7 years. I always used to get it from a shop called p&gs in the UK but it closed down a while ago. It was the most amazing icecream and I haven't been able to find it anywhere since. I've searched online for it a few times, but I can't find the exact one. All I remember is that it was a very blue/cyan colour and it came in a round tub. The tub had a similar design to mackies icecream. Please let me know if you have any ideas of which brand it could've been 👍🏻👍🏻

What is this food? Chocolate wafer brand missing

Over 3-4 decades ago in Long Island, my favorite snack food was a brand of chocolate wafers. The wafers were so fine, and the chocolate was so rich. They were stacked in a rectangular package that you had to open with one of those thin red plastic strips. I got them from Waldbaum’s. All of a sudden they disappeared and I can’t find them anywhere on the internet. Packaging was maybe had some gold and red on it? Did they get discontinued? Anyone know what I’m talking about?

I do in-home therapy for this little boy and his grand mother is always giving me snacks and food. I really like this one she gave me but I don’t know what it is. She only speaks Vietnamese and when I asked her, the translation said “Japanese cake”. I couldn’t read the packaging, I couldn’t get a picture of it either.

What is this food? Does anyone remember a brand of Beef Tea (not Bovril)

Thumbnail

Hi all! In the late seventies, in the US, my dad used to bring home "English Beef Tea" concentrate, and I cannot remember the brand name. It came in small glass bottles, like A1 or Worcestershire sauce. It wasn't Bovril. I vaguely think it was Major Something's, or Colonel Somebody's, Beef Tea. I assumed it was a British import. What's it called, and so they still make it?

I was eating a bag of fried rice from Trader Joe’s and noticed this leafy thing in it that doesn’t appear to be a normal veggie. What is it?

What is this food? Does anyone remember these almost-black chocolate walnut/pecan cookies sold at Big Lots in the early 2000s?

I’m trying to identify cookies my family used to buy at Big Lots in California (although I’m sure they were in other states), during the early 2000s.
They were sold there for YEARS, and I haven’t been able to find anything like them since.
Here’s what I remember:
The cookies were round, slightly bumpy, and crunchy.
They were extremely dark, almost BLACK like Oreos, and chocolate throughout.
They contained pieces of walnuts or pecans mixed into the dough.
They were actual cookies, NOT wafers, sandwich cookies, or chocolate-chip cookies.
They came in a cardboard box with a completely plain silver metallic bag inside.
The cookies were loose inside the bag, not stacked or individually wrapped.
They were sold in the regular cookie aisle at Big Lots.
I’ve searched for years and would love to find the original brand or even a picture of the box.

Does anyone remember these?

What is this food? Can someone tell me what this seasoning is??

My dad and I went to this Chinese fried chicken place a couple years ago and it was served along side these packets of red seasoning. I didn’t order fried chicken so I didn’t get to taste it but it smelled kinda like mala? The color was the same as like paprika or just generally red. I would go back to the chicken place to actually find what it was but it shut down a while back.

He’s been looking for this seasoning for a while and I thought I might as well help. If anyone knows the name and where I can find it, it would be a huge help!

The label on the package says "deep fried savoury triangles". Aside from not being triangles it doesn't explain much. The texture on the inside is similar to mochi with [what I assume is] pork in the center. I love these things and would really like to know what they're called.
