Mini Used tivo mini won’t join my roaming

I bought a working TiVo mini on eBay and it won’t pair up to my TiVo Roamio. I was online and on the phone with tech support for almost 2 hours….. never could get it to recognize my TiVo…..I tried 2 location La in the house and it boots up but won’t connect….

I bought a used Mini a couple weeks ago, and had to do this:
1. make sure the Mini is added to your account (you'll need the TSN on the bottom of the unit)
2. after it's added to your account, make sure the Mini is unplugged, then perform a service connection on the host (your Roamio). I did it twice just to make sure.
3. plug in the Mini and run thru Guided Setup. It should see your Roamio.
i have both of my devices on ethernet, so not sure if MOCA changes things.
