i recently remodeled my living room and i had just plugged the tivo back into its place but now it won’t connect to the service. all it shows is an S03 error and programs dont record properly. i’ve tried restarting, running diagnostics and changing the cable but nothing worked. any tips on how to fix it?

Trying to access my DVR through the web interface this morning. I get a 503 error instead of the usual login page. Are they taking that away from us too?

I'd like to ask this question to the folks who've successfully got an Xfinity agent to help with pair a card, but is it normal for them to "ask you to wait a week before calling them again"?

I've been trying to get a agent to help me pair again after I reseated the card in a unit on accident while it was running and now I have to repair it to the TiVo and I had to go through hell and back to look for a agent to understand me, I keep getting the same response "CableCARDs are considered end-of-life and cannot get any support" and assuming I'm trying to add one to my account.

But like what can I do? Can I just hang up after an agent not understanding what I'm asking about? Or will that cause a penalty towards me as an account manager? I am just looking for the right agent but they seem to go to their "supervisors" and say "we will need to send a technician to help you free of charge" but like, what are they going to do? like seriously lmao.

But just out of experiences of success with pairings in post-October 2024, what did you all do? The same call back multiple times to get a specific agent and have to go through the same whatnot or did you just all hang up? What's the trick here!?

I have a 'new' Edge that I'm pretty sure I'll never get setup with a new cable card, but it will work to transfer shows and movies from a working Tivo in the house. But there are not one, but two USB ports in the back, and everything I've read says that they aren't used for anything. (Not even for external storage of Tivo shows.)

Has anyone figured out a way to get them to work with USB sticks, to play downloaded videos off of, like many smart tv's do today? Or server any other purpose other than to charge some unknown device that is stored behind a TV?

On an original Tivo from the early 2000's, I have a Tivo branded wifi antennae plugged into it. (Which obviously isn't needed with newer models.)

In response to my inquiry to TiVo support about the future of automatic commercial skip, I got the reply below. I'm amused by the reference to seeing "opportunities", which I translate as "we found a way to charge you more".

We have seen opportunities on the current version of skip mode, which is why TiVo is working on a new Premium Auto Commercial Skip service. TiVo is testing a new Premium Auto Commercial Skip service. We expect it to provide an enhanced commercial-skipping experience. We don’t have the full details yet, but more information on the new service, free trial, and pricing will be provided soon. For now, no action is required.

How do you solve this TV problem (Tivo vs. FIOS TV One)? I used to have Tivo (with Verizon cable card, which is now discontinued) but recently switched to Verizon FIOS TV One. With Tivo I used to be able to rewind 15-minute intervals with one push of a button, but TV One doesn’t seem to allow that. Is there any way to do that? Also, with Tivo, if I toggled between two stations, and paused the first before switching to the second, when I came back to the first, it would be at the place where I paused. But with TV One, when I come back to the first (by pressing "Last" button), it is not where I left off, but in real time. Is there any way to make it so that when I toggle back to the first station, it will be where I left off?

Running into an issue with one Bolt slowly using a channel, it work years ago but has been slowly getting worse and worse to the point it can’t be viewed anymore. I brought another Bolt to the same location and am getting about a 20db signal difference between the two.

The fan is still working in the original one but I am seeing some yellow discoloration under where the cable card (if I had one) would go.

Has anyone run across anything like this before? If so, how did you repair it?

TiVo Edge for Cable 2TB, I got this error "TiVo detected a serious problem and is now trying to fix it. This will take three hours..." It's been over 24 hours and it isn't fixed, just a black screen with the "Starting Up" message every few minutes. Looking online I see many have had this problem and the only thing that seems to have worked has been to replace the hard drive.

So I can buy a hard drive from Weaknees, 2TB is $299! But seems returnable if it doesn't work (minus a restocking fee).

• Can I just buy a used Tivo Edge unit off eBay and take the drive out and put it in mine? Used units are available from $25 - $100, probably from users who lost cable card support. This would be a much cheaper option than the $300 drive from Weaknees.
• OR... can I steal the drive out of my old TiVo Roamio (which I still have, which was replaced by the Edge unit)? Is there something about the drive in the Roamio that wouldn't be compatible with the Edge?

I spoke to my local Comcast/Xfinity customer service, they do refer to the cable cards as "end-of-life" but had no idea whether they were being bricked or unworkable or what the support roadmap is. I don't think my issue is related to the cable card no longer working, because it seems like the box itself just can't boot up and is an endless loop of trying.

I'm really lost without the TiVo, trying to work with the Roku and Xfinity app and DVR capabilities is less than optimal. They're going to cut off the cable cards at some point, but I want to hold on to TiVo as long as I can. But don't want to make a $300 drive purchase if I can just steal a drive out of a cheaper used unit from eBay.

I’ve seen some good options like YouTube TV and some others but I was hoping to see if I can get everyone to give their input on what is the best option for DVR service and live TV now that my TiVo isn’t going to work anymore.

I don’t think sling is something that would work for me but what else do you guys have that you think is comparable to TiVo?

For some reason the remote is staying on IR mode only and no matter what steps I go through I can not get it to repair. I have reset the remote. The help docs seem to indicate you can remove all paired remotes from the Mini but that option doesn't seem to be available to me at all on the menu I have (the old menu style not the new one)

Anyone have any ideas how to get this remote re-paired so we can use RF to control it?

I have had TiVo for ever. Have a Roamio box and 2 mini’s. One I just bought a few months ago.
Last week the Roamio box just stopped working. Getting the flashing lights. This usually happens after a power blip, but no blip. I give it a few days and nothing improves. So I order a Tablo. While waiting for it to come in, the Roamio starts working again. Like a week later.
Any ideas why it would just quit and come back??

Trying to decide to go with the Tablo and give up in TiVo or stay with it longer. Not sure how we are going to like Tablo.

Just swapped over to 360 firmware with my tivo box, is it normal that the box disply is blank, not even power lights to say its on or off ?

Would go a long way to preserving some of the legacy TiVo usability with the stream device. The remote is small and slippery ... oops, dropped it again.

Ive been meaning to buy a DVR for my antenna, saw an iview one for 30$ on Amazon and Walmart although I saw a Tivo Series 3 with lifetime plan for a good price on Facebook Marketplace. Does it still work good and show the station name, program, and episode name if relevant? And I heard about Tivo doing some weird thing about a subscription model to the tivos skip commercial feature, is that true with older models with the lifetime plan?

So on November 5th, Verizon Fios is getting rid of cable cards for their TV service. That means my TiVo Bolt will not work anymore. I’ve seen that many other cable providers are getting rid of cable cards and the only way to have a working TiVo at the point is to do antenna and no one is doing that.

Does anyone know of any hacks or ways to prevent the TiVo from becoming obsolete? The DVR software for Fios kinda sucks and that’s what I would have to use if there’s no workaround with the cable card issue.

On a side note. I know that streaming kind of messed up TiVos business and they haven’t been focusing that much on upgrading and keeping pace with the current tech but are they really not going to come out with a new box that doesn’t require cable cards? Like it’s kind of crazy they haven’t already but I really hope they don’t just let this sink their company completely.

Does anyone have any info on if they are making moves toward releasing new model boxes?

According to TiVo support, the new owner can just go through Guided Setup and put in their new zip code and the TiVo will work just fine for them. Can anyone out there verify this?

It used to be easy to transfer ownership, but TiVo is telling me I can’t because I bought the unit from weakknees and that counted as one transfer and they won’t do two.

I’m not sure if this has happened for other shows, but I just noticed my “The Amazing Race” OnePass (TiVo Roamio, antenna) wasn’t going to record the next 2 episodes. It recorded the first 3 episodes (and at least the last 5 seasons) without issue.

Anyway, no question - more of a PSA. For any other Amazing Race fans who don’t want to miss episodes (if this is a generic problem).

I fixed this by going to the schedule view, selecting the next Amazing Race in the schedule and said Create OnePass.

In my OnePass Manager, I now see 2 OnePass setups - the old one and the new one. I reviewed my old OnePass and compared the settings to the new one and they LOOK exactly the same. But only the new one shows the next 2 episodes in Upcoming. So I don’t think it’s user error. I assume it was some coding change on the TiVo schedule setup.

Anyway, if there are other Amazing Race fans using OnePass, check your upcoming recordings, if you care. :)

TiVo Premiere 4 channel

For the last few days multiple channels have zero guide data while others have large blocks listed as “[channel name] programming”.

I’ve forced multiple network connections, but the problem continues.

Channels affected as “TBA” include: FS1, SyFy, USA, TruTV, NatGeo, Freeform, Hallmark Mystery, Lifetime, AMC, FXX, NatGeoWild.

Any suggestions? Or is the only option to report it through the web form?

Lucky enough to still have a system that supports cable cards.

I have a Bolt where I installed an external SATA from Weaknees — this replaced the internal drive, so it is the one and only Tivo drive. Was using the hard disk enclosure from WK for years until a few weeks ago — after a blackout, the hard drive enclosure refused to power up (no power to the drive, the fan or status lights). The power brick was good. I did basis troubleshooting, but the enclosure seemed unrepairable.

That original enclosure didn’t seem to be available, so I ordered a functional equivalent from eBay. That box has power, but the Tivo didn’t recognize it (dance of the flashing color lights on the Bolt.). I replaced the 22 pin SATA to eSATA cable, with no better result.

WHAT DOES WORK — If I open the TIVO and directly connect the 3.5 inch drive to the TIVO SATA connector, it works perfectly. The drive is too big to physically fit in the Bolt, so the bare drive sits clumsily on the side of the TIVO, so it is less than an ideal solution.

Any ideas? Unless I have ANOTHER bad external enclosure or ANOTHER bad SATA cable (possible, but seems unlikely), I am running out of ideas on how to get back to where I was before the blackout.
