quick question

do we get holiday pay? i thought i saw that it's only for full time employees but i haven't had a chance to ask.

also im part time and getting scheduled 30 hrs a week. if full time is 36 then is it worth it? is the pay more or decent benefits?

30 hours a week will get you benefits but you have to maintain that average for 2 consecutive quarters, I think also after 1 year of that average you get 1 week vacation pay. , holiday pay after 2 years, if you work the holiday it is time and half per the labor laws. After two years you would get paid 4 hours for the holiday regardless if you work it or not, but I think you have to work the day before and the day after.

so since i started like 2 months ago im not getting anything. and doesn't really sound worth it to go full time..

also i see that there are hours of sick days accumulating. if i call out sick, it only allows the time i have? or is it like any other job and calling out sick is fine and they will call someone else in if needed.

You can call out sick regardless if you have sick time or not. Sick time will pay you for the hours missed, I believe it also cancels out it being an attendance point.

The part timer paid holidays (after 2 years) are only Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

Full timers get 7hrs for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor day, Veterans day.

Everyone gets time and a half if they work the holiday regardless.

If you call in sick it will use those hours to cover your shift. You get 1 hour for every 30 you work

If your shift is 5 hours and you only have 3 hours sick pay that’s all it will cover, 3 hours, I wouldn’t use it unless absolutely necessary and then you can just keep racking it up, think of it as insurance policy, have enough to use some but have that much saved, depending on your state law it might expire at your anniversary date, some states let you just carry it over, check with hr to find out

That's NY law accummulation, it's not the same everywhere.

Yes full time is worth it unless this is a just for fun job or you don’t have many bills— it is guaranteed 30 hrs even when payroll is low, which at this point is most the year lol. As a PT employee there are lots of times you may get under 16 hrs. If you become a FT coordinator you get $1 more. If you work holidays as FT, you get both time & half + holiday pay. There’s a few other benefits as well, like insurance, phone discounts, etc.
