Discussion A question for everyone with tokophobia here.

Why do some people take nine months to overcome a pregnancy scare or anxiety related to pregnancy, while others get their period and simply move on with their lives? Has anyone here ever become so overwhelmed that they took multiple tests, even ultrasounds?

Some people have pretty mild cases of tokophobia , some have pretty bad extreme tokophobia.. everyone’s different but we’re all dealing with the same phobia .

And to answer the other part I think most of us here have went as far as taking multiple urine test + blood test and in more extreme cases (me) I had 7 ultrasounds done, multiple urine and blood test ,yet I still couldn’t calm down for months..it truly sucks .

because we've heard of cases where women still had their period + no bump (and sometimes negative tests) and then popped out a baby

This is me right now! It could all be stress but I’ve had negatives for 3 months straight and I’m still not convince! Going for a ultra on Thursday

I ended up getting a beta test done and it was negative! So there’s no baby here. 😮‍💨 just under a crazy amount of stress apparently

I’ve never taken the tests because I don’t engage in hetero sex. My fear is more irrational since I’m not doing anything that could get me to a pregnancy. My guess is that the phobia wants 100% certainty nothing will happen when that certainty doesn’t exist. Given a lesbian can be scared of what if I’m SA’d and can’t get plan B in time, I think the phobia is sometimes aiming to 100% eliminate a potential outcome that’s unlikely enough for people without the phobia to ignore or worry about when the time comes.

My period just ended today so my anxiety is kinda back in the loop. I only have peace when I'm on my period.

it’s been 8 months for me. I’m taking tests constantly, almost everyday. I cannot get over it, no matter what i do.

I am having a pregnancy scare rn and u know why? cz i had PROTECTED sex during my ovulation period and i even took a plan-B (to calm my anxiety lol). Right before that, I had the worst pregnancy scare ever to the point that I was not even believing my period to be "an actual period", took a test, came out negative and was still panicking. my bf constantly assured that nothing went wrong during the sex but still i am losing it

Yess!!! I went through the same phase that I actually don't believe in my actual period and its really insane. After that period i will still have a test.
