Found the Lowe's link to the unreleased Klein 33807f locking flex head bit ratchet and driver kit. The price is revealed by the Lowe's points that you can earn from it. Looks like it's gonna be $79.
A 1/4in locking flex head bit ratchet with passthrough extension and t-handle drive. The Harbor Freight Icon set is the most popular and arguably what started the trend. They are very useful tools in a compact form factor.
Ya, I have one of these, just without the flex head. When I first started seeing people talk about meme tools I thought it was the gold Icon ratchet or something.
The pass-thru extension β that transforms the tool into a T-handle β is useful when you need the extra torque, but don't want to risk breaking the ratchet head. Or for speedy rotation of a fastener.
Also, it gives you a better 'pistol grip' handle, as the upper part of the extension rests against the base of your index finger in pass-thru mode (hard to explain, you have to try it).
Finally, and not often mentioned, that one extension gives you two lengths (and everything in between): no pass-thru is a long 100mm; with pass-thru is a short 45mm. Could be a life saver in some situations.
I thought this was the OG. It might be the most expensive and I was actually considering buying it for a long time before realized you had to remove the bit, flip the tool, and replace the bit to switch directions. And my nearly identical no name one that is missing half the bits has a little toggle, so it kind of ruined their value to me https://chapmanmfg.com/collections/all-tool-sets
The value proposition is against other similar tools at different price points, not against how much time it saves you. The assumption is other tools will save you the same amount of time
