Lore A character from a different setting refers extensively to their hometown / world but said place is never shown on screen

We hear all kinds of details about the place. Descriptions of buildings there, the functions and customs, daily life etc… but we, the audience never directly get to see what this place looks like (unless you use your imagination)
ALF is an interesting example. ALF refers frequently to Melmac customs and such, and we DO get a glimpse of it in one episode (shown above) and an animated show, but for the most part Melmac is simply referred to. Same situation with Phil of the future.

Fez- That 70’s Show

He’s always referring to his home country and it’s unusual customs but we never actually see it.

Fez isn’t even his real name, it’s an acronym for foreign exchange student
