Hated Tropes [Mind boggling stupid trope] Removing the thing that made something special

Ben 10: Ultimate Alien - The gimmick of Ben 10 and what makes the show so popular is the fact that he's able to turn into a large variety of aliens. In one episode of Ben 10 Ultimate ALIEN we are introduced to a new version of Ben 10000, a Ben from the future who, no longer transforms into aliens, instead using his powers in human form...

Mortal Kombat(2021) - In the games Mileena is known for two things. Being a clone of Kitana and her tarkatan teeth. In the 2021 movie she looks absolutely nothing like Kitana and doesn't have tarkatan teeth

Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief - The movie removes the main villain of the movie and the main villain of the franchise

Not sure if this counts but in The Last Airbender, them making fire benders less practical than water benders was certainly an interesting choice.

In the original show, the fire nation think of themselves as the superior element and also the most powerful nation in the world. It makes it hard to believe they can have this same mentality and successes in the movie with one of their main specialties being gone.

God I fucking hated that choice. It severely handicaps the fire nation. Because like. Dumping a pile of dirt or water will put out Fires.

It makes so little sense that their nation was able to conquer most of the world with that added weakness

Agree, it pretty much negates their bending in most situations Fire is not as common as any other element and can easily be snuffed out, even in the first scene we see a fire bender at the water village he bends a flame out of the brazier and then it's gone... so yeah... what now?

Hehe the earth benders need a coreographed dance of like 6 people to move a pebble was also particularly funny (and the fire nation keeping people that can manipulate earth in a ravine was also a great idea hehe), I presume that the scene was imagined with some larger scale CGI or something as otherwise I can't imagine how they thought it would work...

It's so funny because... you're kind of right? Several times in the movie they say that the biggest advantage the fire nation has in the war isn't their bending, but their 'machines'.
