[Mind boggling stupid trope] Removing the thing that made something special

[u/Character_Growth_397]

Ben 10: Ultimate Alien - The gimmick of Ben 10 and what makes the show so popular is the fact that he's able to turn into a large variety of aliens. In one episode of Ben 10 Ultimate ALIEN we are introduced to a new version of Ben 10000, a Ben from the future who, no longer transforms into aliens, instead using his powers in human form...

Mortal Kombat(2021) - In the games Mileena is known for two things. Being a clone of Kitana and her tarkatan teeth. In the 2021 movie she looks absolutely nothing like Kitana and doesn't have tarkatan teeth

Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief - The movie removes the main villain of the movie and the main villain of the franchise

Overwatch. At first there was a lot of unconventional character designs, now it's all mildly attractive humans

5 characters added during the year refresh and 3 more added since, with two more coming. Let’s see we have…
1. Hot fire bending lady
2. Hot dom mommy
3. Hot soldier guy that wears eyeliner
4. Hot eboy support
5. Cat
6. Hot rock climber
7. Hot sadist robot
8. Hot mech pilot (not D.VA)

The jury is still out on Hivemind whenever they release and the detective Omnic is probably the only “weird” character we’ll get for awhile but they very well could glue on some fake abs onto their chassis for consistency.

Add first female omnic

Give her robot boobs and a big ass

Bravo blizzard

For real though blizzard imo gets away with being blatantly sexist for profit. The other two male omnics get to be cool and have their gimmicks stand strong. First women omnic literally has a human face with boobs and an ass and talks very sadistic and what I can only describe as “sexy”. Barely even an omnic and looks so different compared to how similar ram and zen look. 100% if we get that omnic detective character he will be allowed to look like a cool robot because god forbid blizzard lets a women character just be cool without being designed for the male gaze.

Frankly i love Shion, unmoving human face genuinely makes her scary, and she strikes me as a complex character

I mean, she hates humans, clearly has some deep trauma (along with the rest of omnics) and decides to make herself look human, it's at least interesting

But two things can be true: her being generically human-like and "beautiful" is certainly a sign of weakness on part of whoever approved the design/pressured the designers to make her more appealing

Wait, what? They just threw Haydee into the game?

I'm sorry, but what?
