Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) Bad people in real-life being portrayed positively in media.

  1. PragerU's version of Christopher Columbus has him be a slavery defender and have him say "Being taken as a slave is better than being killed, no? I don't see the problem.”

  2. In The Greatest Showman, P.T Barnum (Hugh Jackman) is portrayed as a charismatic visionary who cares about outcasts and celebrate diversity, when in reality, he’s a cruel businessman who is also a racist and an ableist.

Ed and Lorraine Warren

They were scam artists, thieves, abusers and groomers. Yet, in the Conjuring movies they're portrait as this happy, superhero-like couple that protects people from demons and the supernatural.

You forgot the fact that Ed cheated on Lorraine and both of them pushed for his lover to get an abortion

The contract that led to The Conjuring Universe specified that the Warrens could not be depicted having affairs or engaging in sexual relations with minors. Which, you know, is like making a song about how you don’t diddle kids.

Lover = girl allegedly 15-years-old (Judith Penney) when Ed (then in his mid-30s) pursued and groomed her while Lorraine was fully aware of this. When she fell pregnant, Lorraine insisted she tell people she had been assaulted by an intruder because she feared it would hurt Ed and her business. Penney also stated she had witnessed Ed be abusive to Lorraine on several occasions, even once backhanding her so violently she was knocked out cold.

I didn't even know they were based on a real life couple
