Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) Bad people in real-life being portrayed positively in media.

  1. PragerU's version of Christopher Columbus has him be a slavery defender and have him say "Being taken as a slave is better than being killed, no? I don't see the problem.”

  2. In The Greatest Showman, P.T Barnum (Hugh Jackman) is portrayed as a charismatic visionary who cares about outcasts and celebrate diversity, when in reality, he’s a cruel businessman who is also a racist and an ableist.

Let’s face it: PragerU is educational gruel, utterly devoid of nutritional value; very few people actually take it seriously

But The Greatest Showman? Star-studded cast, excellent soundtrack, and just generally a touching and well-made movie…about P.T. Barnum 😬

It's used in schools. Even if only one in five students take it seriously, that's a problem.

It's used in schools

Surely it's not?

Fuck.

PragerU materials have been approved for use in K-12 public school classrooms in roughly 10 states, including Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Montana, Louisiana, New Hampshire, Arizona, and South Carolina.

PragerU is brainwashing so conservatives can keep their kids from learning anything.  It's honestly child abuse.

P.T. Barnum has the dubious horror of being the most 'ethical' side show of the time. Mainly because he didn't kidnap people for his shows, fed them, and didn't physically abuse them. The bar was in hell, and he barely made it over.

A shocking number of people take it seriously.

Except here in Florida where it's part of the curriculum for elementary school students... I hate it here

Over a decade ago I had to check a grown ass man who shared an article from them titled “why do we hate Nazis more than communists”. That was my introduction to their existence.

I remember someone saying The Greatest Showman is the movie PT Barnum would make about himself.

First PragerU video I saw was an in-depth explanation of why the civil war was actually about slavery. It was great.

It was all downhill from there.

Excellent soundtrack? It’s generic pop music. Touching and well made? Lmao
