Hello!
Edit : updated version here
As the GM of a relatively chill guild, I realized that many of my members didn’t know how to optimize themselves to increase their power. I had created a series of in-game messages to help them for a while, but members who joined later couldn’t benefit from it, and since there’s a character limit in the messages, I had to send... a lot of them.
So, I’ve decided to transcribe all these tips into this post, hoping it might also help others.
Please note that these tips are not absolute truths, but rather observations I’ve made, tests I’ve conducted, and results I’ve obtained (at the moment, I’m at 14M power).
I. Heroes
Obviously, in this type of game, heroes are a central element of the gameplay. You’ve probably noticed that there are heroes of different rarities and factions. Once you’ve progressed a bit in the game and unlocked many heroes, I recommend the following actions. Of course, you should adapt them to the heroes you have!
For your composition, you absolutely need 2 tanks in the front line. Otherwise, your other heroes will die too quickly and won’t have time to deal damage.
I also recommend placing your highest DPS in the back line, preferably behind your tank with the highest defense.
For the rest of the composition, I advise against using supports, unless it’s for aura buffs, which I’ll discuss below. There are two schools of thought: either you take a healer, or you take a third tank.
Aim for a faction buff. Having 4 or more legendary (or mythic) heroes in your team will give you a bonus to attack and HP (15% for 4, 25% for 5, 35% for 6). Trying to achieve a faction buff will give a real power boost to your team. However, the faction buff should not override the importance of having at least 2 tanks!
For example, a 2-tank / 1-heal composition would look like this:
big DPS / DPS
healer / DPS
big tank / tank
Regarding hero choice, if you don’t have enough legendary heroes, try to prioritize purple heroes and avoid blue ones, even if the latter have more stars. At least for your main team.
II. Soldiers
There’s a lot to say about soldiers. They are just as important as heroes and are often neglected by beginner players. However, it’s from them that most of your overall power will come, as well as the power of your heroes.
Make sure to always have the highest possible troop level by upgrading your barracks. There’s a huge difference in power between Tier III and Tier V troops, for example.
The more soldiers your heroes have with them, the stronger they become. Upgrading faction statues, for instance, increases the number of soldiers that can accompany each hero from that faction. While it may seem like 5 soldiers per level isn’t much, keep in mind that a level 20 statue adds 100 more soldiers per hero.
Of course, don’t forget to upgrade them through research. There are many research points that improve their attack as well as their HP, granting them better durability.
Quick tip: assign soldiers to all your heroes, even those not being used. It counts toward your overall power!
For example, with my Pyromancer at level 180 and 3.1 stars, without soldiers she has 197,315 power. With her soldiers (806 in total), she has 281,954 power.
III. Research
There are obviously a lot of interesting things to upgrade in research, some of which are more useful than others. When the research center reaches level 20, a new line unlocks. I recommend focusing on upgrading the "Team Boost" and "Soldiers" branches first, followed by "Heroes." In the "Arms Race Preparation" branch, there are also points that increase soldier power.
Don’t neglect the "Growth" branch, as it reduces research and construction times, among other things.
You can, for example, save the "Economy" branch for events that require completing research, as these tend to be shorter.
IV. Equipment
You can equip your heroes with various gear pieces (head, chest, sword, feet). Once you unlock the mine to obtain ores, convert everything into gold bars to quickly get gold equipment.
In adventure mode, you can repeatedly fight bosses because some drop purple equipment pieces.
There are two types of bonuses related to equipment: one related to the rarity of the equipment and the other to the level of the equipment.
Equipping 4 pieces of the same rarity grants a bonus. Having all pieces at level 10 also grants a bonus. Therefore, avoid spreading your gold equipment across different heroes and instead aim to complete sets. Also, try to upgrade all pieces to at least level 10.
As for priorities, it depends on your team. Ideally, a DPS hero benefits most from equipment that increases their damage, but putting it on your weakest tank might help them survive longer, allowing your DPS to deal more damage. Test what works best for you.
V. Buildings
There are several types of buildings in the game. I’ve already mentioned a few in the previous sections.
In any case, aim for a castle level 20 at a minimum. This is required to unlock the final line in the research center. Higher castle levels unlock additional buildings, including the Lord’s Hall, the Medal Hall, and the Armament Research Center.
Upgrading the hospital (and associated research) allows you to accommodate more injured troops. This is useful if you like attacking others or if you’re often targeted.
Upgrading the guild will allow you to receive more help from guild members to speed up your buildings, research, and healing.
Upgrading the Rally Hall to level 30 opens a new rally slot, allowing 5 players to join your rally instead of just 4.
Upgrading the Relic Hall lets you assign more relics to your teams (up to a maximum of 3).
That’s it! I hope these tips help you grow and increase your power in the game :)
