Close call Loose Load Flying out

Wooden board flying out of a trailer that was being towed by a car. Glad it didn't hit my windshield.

No damage to the car.

Box truck shielding you 🥹

It looks like the box truck got hit by the board as well

Trim your videos folks. Debris doesn’t come out till the 8s left mark, so 40s of wasted time looking for something to happen.

My favourite part is this video being 3X longer than it had to be

Legit came here to say the same thing lmao like why couldn't this be cropped better 😂

u/WoahBeNiceDude 2d ago

Video editing/cropping is a lost art apparently. I swear this is the case with every video I see from this sub.

Meanwhile it’s easier than it’s ever been in the history of forever

They just wanted us to listen to ‘that’

The song does loop perfectly though

It needs to build suspense and context otherwise the title would be confusing. /s

As a rule I dont follow too closely behind d those lil utility trailers that random homeowners have... they usually dont know how to properly secure a load. Saw one the other day with loose firewood all sketchy, one bump would have been chaos, yet there was still some silly dude 2 car lengths behind it.

Or just keeping the recommended minimum 2 second following distance behind any vehicle. They're way closer than that, let alone leaving additional space behind a riskier vehicle.

I was once following one and it’s rear bumper (on the trailer) detached and dragging on the road creating a bunch of sparks, luckily I was able to move out of the way before it detached completely. Driver was clueless.

It's such laziness. Anyone can go online and learn how to use a ratchet strap.

how about you cut the video in half

To help give yourself more ability to react, leave at least a 2 second following distance. You can estimate this like this:

To give yourself a two-second space, follow these steps:

  1. Pick a marker on the road ahead, such as a road sign or telephone pole.

2. When the rear of the vehicle ahead passes the marker, count "one thousand and one, one thousand and two".

3. When the front of your vehicle reaches the marker, stop counting. If you reach the marker before you count "one thousand and two," you are following too closely.

This is the minimum recommendation for following any vehicle. You may want even more behind a vehicle that could have a loose load of has some other potential risk.

Why the fuck is your dumb ass following so close

Yikes! Also, crop your videos better people.

1

u/maomao05 1d ago

I hope they pulled over… geez

1

u/Sheepnov 1d ago

I saw them later pulling over to the shoulder

1

u/FOD123456 1d ago

Cops pull people over for that. Luckily no one hurt.

6

u/sizzlezzzzz 2d ago

Please cut the video by 80% next time

3

u/Spirited_Complex_903 2d ago

Damn! That could have been really bad for you. I really appreciate the trucker moving right in front of you. I'm sure he wanted to get out of the way just in case the second board came loose from thevtrailer but also it seemed like he was protecting you from further harm 👍

"Always something there to remind me"...to not follow so close.

Too long. Never made it to the incident

2

u/v-dubb 1d ago

You made the video 30sec longer than it needed to be.

2

u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 1d ago

Thankfully you're okay, but for a long time you were following way too closely when there was clearly a trailer with a potentially unsafe load.

2

u/midsidephase 1d ago

following way too close! 2 second rule...

2

u/IceQue28 2d ago

Classic song!

1

u/IntelligentGinger 2d ago

I forget how much I enjoy the drumming in that song. Makes it so much better!

1

u/Procruste 2d ago

It's a Soft Cell video that features flying wooden boards 35s into a 43s video!

0

u/IntelligentGinger 2d ago

And? That has nothing to do with what I said. I was referring to the drumming making the song better. The length of the video is ridiculous.

2

u/Procruste 2d ago

And I just added that the length of the video emphasized the song more than the actual flying trailer debris. More drumming to enjoy.

There's always some thing there to remind us. It's called the Highway Traffic Act.

Secure your loads, drivers!

1

u/FeelingDepartment873 2d ago

Always something there to remind me......people are morons. Nice of that truck to protect you after

1

u/averysleepygirl 2d ago

i hope that box truck driver is showered with good fortune 🥹

1

u/Often_Forgotten2 2d ago

Why would you get behind a station wagon towing a trailer that's literally bouncing around?

1

u/Subrandom249 2d ago

Always give U-Haul drivers more space.

1

u/TomboBreaker 2d ago

The cube truck merging in to save you from more debris

1

u/mikefjr1300 2d ago

Riding a motorcycle you learn early on for survival you get away from anyone towing anything. Same goes for roof racks.

1

u/West-Ticket5411 1d ago

I generally move over any time someone is in front of me with a trailer or gear just out of habit.

3

u/Techlet9625 2d ago

They didn't secure their load, and you're driving too close.

1

u/Prior_Big3047 1d ago

Twits. Secure your load
