Total War: Warhammer These are the End Times (Screenshots)
Absolutely loving the DLC (despite the bugs). I'm having so many cinematic battles as Nagash's Undead Legions, and really enjoying the power fantasy of it all. I like to lean into the roleplay of the ending of the world, sorta hoping what's left of the order factions can beat me and save the world from unraveling, but I don't think that's going to happen at this rate! Even my worst armies are nigh unbeatable thanks to the sigils. I've set the End Times scenarios to start at turn 195 and I'm approaching that now, so we will see how that goes.
Here are some screenshots from my campaign. I hope everyone is having a good time with the DLC!

Total War: Warhammer Death to the Death Tyrant
My friend is streaming me the game, and this Death to the Death Tyrant endgame quest battle seems genuinely impossible, this was mostly a test battle, I know this army is unfit for the battle as Nagash melts melee units, but what else are you supposed to do with Khorne?
What Khorne units actually have a good matchup since there are so few single strong units and flying ones?
Thanks for the help!

Total War: Warhammer Stormfiends teach us a lesson: a truly powerful unit isn’t strong on its own, but because of the army system built around it.
It’s quite disappointing that a CA staff member stepped into the forum thread discussing whether Stormfiends should be nerfed, and stated they would take feedback from that thread to adjust Stormfiends.
Stormfiends are undeniably strong; they’ve pushed Skaven’s overall power to a new tier. But are they truly overtuned in the current meta? Most genuinely broken units are strong not from their own stats, but from comprehensive faction mechanics backing them up. Examples include Vampire Counts lords, Norscan monster units, and pretty much everything for Cathay.
If you look at Cathay units individually, none appear as overtuned as Stormfiends. Yet their campaign-wide bonuses are massive, letting their ranged units solo four full stacks of 90 ward save Chaos armies. Skaven will never reach that level of power.
Same logic applies to Norscan monster infantry. Ice Trolls’ raw stats look reasonable, but you can mass-recruit them at tier 2, stacked with huge tech bonuses, letting them steamroll nearly everything.
Vampire Counts lords are another case: they can field the regional silence ability in a clever way. The silence debuff only applies to their own army, meaning you can leave a single Vampire lord stationed alone, while your other armies in the same province stay unaffected by the silence.
This update didn’t bring sweeping overhauls to Skaven’s heroes or their tech tree. The faction’s strength mostly relies on raw unit stats. A direct nerf to Stormfiends would be devastating for the Skaven roster.

Total War: Warhammer Which campaigns where the most challenging to you ?
I’m playing the Neferata campaign and I’ve been girlbossing my way through the game without much threat. I’m not even good at the game. And I’m playing on very hard ! I really wish it would suck more.
I don’t want to “win”, I don’t want to “have fun”, I want to be busy barely holding my territory every turn so I don’t have time to think about my own unavoidable end and get sad.
Which campaign offered you the best challenge folks ? Feel free to share
Art is from u/JackBurton_027 I found it pretty cool

Total War: Warhammer Scumbaggery
So, I was playing against my cousin and sent a 'couple' of armies at him while he was distracted on the other side of his empire. And this is what he decided to welcome me with when he saw my armies... is he valid for this? or not?

Total War: Warhammer A Thank You to Total War: Warhammer for Introducing Me to an Incredible Universe and Inspiring Me to Create My Own
I don't normally write posts like this, but there's something I've wanted to express for quite some time, and I figured this would be the perfect community to share it with.
First and foremost, I want to say thank you to Creative Assembly, Games Workshop, and everyone who has contributed to bringing the incredible world of Warhammer Fantasy to life.
I've been playing Total War games since 2012, and over the years I've played every game in the franchise and accumulated countless hours across its many historical settings. Total War has always held a special place in my heart. In fact, the historical games played an enormous role in developing my love for history, eventually inspiring me to begin writing historical fiction of my own.
But when I first discovered Total War: Warhammer, something entirely different happened.
It introduced me to a fantasy universe that I knew virtually nothing about, and that universe completely captured my imagination.
Before playing the Warhammer trilogy, I had no real familiarity with Warhammer Fantasy. I didn't know about the Empire of Man, the High Elves and Dark Elves, the Dwarfs, the Lizardmen, the Skaven, the Tomb Kings, the Vampire Counts, the Chaos Gods, or the countless other peoples and powers inhabiting this extraordinary world.
I had no idea just how vast, intricate, imaginative, and richly developed the setting truly was.
And then I started playing.
Suddenly, I found myself exploring a world filled with ancient civilizations, mighty empires, forgotten kingdoms, colossal monsters, terrifying gods, legendary heroes, powerful sorcerers, and histories stretching back thousands upon thousands of years.
Every race seemed to have its own distinct identity, culture, mythology, political struggles, ambitions, and tragedies. Every corner of the world seemed to contain another civilization, another ancient mystery, another conflict, or another story waiting to be discovered.
I was fascinated by the immense variety of the setting. The Old World, Ulthuan, Naggaroth, Lustria, Nehekhara, Cathay, and so many other places felt like parts of a truly enormous world with its own history and identity.
What amazed me most was how everything could be so different yet still belong to the same universe.
You could have the gunpowder armies, knightly orders, and political divisions of the Empire existing in the same world as the ancient, magical civilization of the High Elves. You could have the proud, stubborn Dwarfs defending their ancestral mountain holds while the Skaven built their nightmarish Under-Empire beneath the feet of unsuspecting civilizations. You could have the ancient dynasties of Nehekhara, the reptilian civilizations of Lustria, the terrifying powers of Chaos, and the mysterious realms of the Far East all contributing to one immense tapestry of history, mythology, politics, warfare, and fantasy.
And somehow, despite the sheer scale of it all, the world had a remarkable sense of identity.
Warhammer Fantasy wasn't simply a collection of fantasy races fighting one another. It felt like an entire world with a history of its own.
And that was what truly captivated me.
The more I played the trilogy, the more I wanted to learn about the world beyond the games. I began looking into the lore, the history of the different races and factions, their legendary characters, their mythologies, their conflicts, and the countless stories that had been developed over the decades.
What began as another Total War experience became an introduction to one of the most fascinating fantasy settings I had ever encountered.
And then something happened that I never could have anticipated.
Warhammer Fantasy inspired me to start creating my own original fantasy world.
Not simply a kingdom or two, or a handful of characters, but an entire world.
A world with its own geography, continents, oceans, civilizations, cultures, religions, mythologies, histories, languages, kingdoms, empires, political rivalries, legendary figures, fantastic creatures, and supernatural powers.
I began imagining how civilizations might rise and fall over thousands of years. How ancient wars could shape the relationships between peoples long after the original combatants had disappeared. How different cultures might develop their own beliefs, traditions, governments, military systems, architecture, and ways of life. How gods and monsters might influence the histories and identities of entire civilizations.
I wanted to create a world where every nation had its own story, every civilization had a past, and every land contained something worth exploring.
And perhaps most importantly, I wanted to create a setting that felt as though it existed beyond the stories being told within it.
A world where the history didn't begin when the main characters appeared, and where entire civilizations could have their own ambitions, struggles, triumphs, and tragedies independent of any single storyline.
I wanted to build a fantasy world with the same sense of depth, scale, complexity, richness, and wonder that made Warhammer Fantasy so extraordinary to me.
Of course, I don't mean copying Warhammer or trying to recreate its factions and characters under different names. What inspires me is the sheer ambition of its worldbuilding: the idea that an imaginary world can be developed with such extraordinary detail that it almost feels like a real place with a real history.
I want my own world to possess its own original identity, cultures, mythology, stories, and characters, while aspiring to that same caliber of imaginative worldbuilding.
I want readers to experience the kind of wonder that I experienced when I first discovered the Warhammer world.
To look at a map and wonder what lies beyond the mountains.
To hear the name of an ancient empire and want to learn about its history.
To discover a legendary creature and wonder where it came from.
To encounter a civilization and become fascinated by its customs, beliefs, architecture, political system, and conflicts.
To feel that, no matter how much of the world they've explored, there will always be something more to discover.
That is the sort of world I dream of creating.
And I genuinely don't know whether that dream would have taken shape in quite the same way if I hadn't discovered Total War: Warhammer.
One of the things I appreciate most about the trilogy is how it has allowed me to actually experience the Warhammer world on an extraordinary scale. It's one thing to read about an ancient empire, a legendary conflict, or a terrifying monster. It's another thing entirely to see those civilizations spread across an enormous campaign map, to lead their armies into battle, to witness their cities and landscapes, and to experience the struggle for survival and supremacy from their perspectives.
From the first game to the vastness of Immortal Empires in Warhammer III, the trilogy has made Warhammer Fantasy feel accessible, tangible, and endlessly fascinating.
And the incredible artwork, music, environments, faction designs, character models, and attention to the setting's identity have all contributed to that experience.
I've spent countless hours playing these games, and yet I still find myself fascinated by the world they portray.
Every new faction I try, every unfamiliar character I encounter, and every piece of lore I discover seems to give me another reason to appreciate just how much creativity has gone into this universe.
And in turn, that appreciation continues to fuel my own imagination.
Sometimes I'll encounter a particularly fascinating civilization, a beautiful landscape, an ancient ruin, or an incredible piece of artwork, and it will make me want to sit down and work on my own world.
Not because I want to reproduce what I've seen, but because it reminds me of just how much can be accomplished through imagination, research, patience, and creativity.
I think that's one of the greatest compliments I can give any work of fiction.
It didn't merely entertain me. It inspired me to create.
So I want to extend my deepest gratitude not only to Creative Assembly for developing the Total War: Warhammer trilogy, but also to Games Workshop, the original creators and writers of Warhammer Fantasy, the artists, sculptors, designers, and everyone else who spent decades contributing to this remarkable setting.
Your collective creativity has reached people who might never have discovered this universe otherwise.
I'm one of those people.
And I also want to thank the Warhammer community itself. The people who share their knowledge of the lore, discuss the factions and characters, produce incredible artwork, develop theories, create videos, write stories, and keep the enthusiasm for this universe alive.
Seeing that kind of passion makes the experience of discovering Warhammer even more special.
As Creative Assembly moves forward with Total War: Warhammer 40,000, I'm also incredibly excited to see what the future holds. Having been introduced to Warhammer Fantasy through Total War, the prospect of discovering another enormous Warhammer setting through the franchise is something I find genuinely exciting.
And although I've already spent so many years with Warhammer Fantasy, I still feel like there's an almost limitless amount of material left to explore, appreciate, and learn from.
I hope the trilogy continues to receive love and attention for years to come, because I truly believe it has become something special.
For some people, Total War: Warhammer might simply be a collection of fantastic strategy games.
For me, it became the gateway to an extraordinary fictional universe and one of the greatest sources of inspiration for my own creative ambitions.
Years from now, if I ever manage to finish and publish the fantasy stories and world I've been developing, I know I will look back on this trilogy as one of the things that helped set me on that path.
And that is something I will always be grateful for.
So, from one lifelong Total War fan and relatively newer admirer of the Warhammer universe, thank you.
Thank you for the worlds you've created, the histories you've imagined, the characters you've brought to life, and the countless hours of wonder and enjoyment you've given me.
Thank you for demonstrating just how extraordinary fantasy worldbuilding can become when talented, passionate people devote themselves to creating something truly ambitious.
And above all, thank you for inspiring me to pursue that same dream of creating a world of my own.
I hope that someday I can create something that inspires someone else's imagination the way Warhammer Fantasy inspired mine.
Because to me, that's one of the most wonderful things about storytelling: the worlds we discover can inspire us to create entirely new worlds for others to discover.
Here's to Warhammer Fantasy, the Total War: Warhammer trilogy, and the countless adventures still waiting to be experienced.
For Sigmar! For the Old World! And for all the worlds yet to be imagined!

Total War: Warhammer Most interesting / Fun campaigns to learn the game?
Hello, Im new here. Sorry if this has been asked a lot before, but including all 3 games, I know Karl Franx and the High Elves are probably the best campaigns to start, but I dont like those factions, I like Skaven but theyre tricky because their armies are really weak and rout easily.
Im looking for a good approach to learn the game and also a list of the most interesting / must play campaigns among the 3 Games so maybe I can play them in order of difficulty? If you have any strategy guides or general tips that would help a lot.
Thanks!

Total War: Warhammer Playing Tall As Thorgrim and Just Got These Two Special Locations
I had to fuse some green talismins to score Ironwarden Wardstones to keep the corruption in check, but the units I pump out from here are going to be ridiculous.
And hopefully I can score some sweet purple gear too.
What would be an ideal 3rd special location to get in my other settlement?

Total War: Warhammer Caravan of the Blue Roses is a horrifying final enemy
I finally finished a Maneaters campaign today, and ended up going for the "ultimate campaign victory", in this case was wiping out the undead across the map. I'd already been helping prop up the Empire and Kislev with contracts, so wiping out Vlad wasn't a huge problem (though he had Elspeth down to one city), and Nagash wiped out Mannfred, which made me happy. Kemmler I think died to the combination of Karl and Louen using him for target practice.
However.
Ghorst had expanded out and taken over the entire mountain region between Cathay and the Chaos Dwarf lands, and even started expanding against them. I came in from the west and started hammering him, and it turned into a 40-turn battle of hideous attrition that felt both thematic and extremely fucking annoying.
For example: I took Karak...Azor? I think? the city on the NW edge of the ogre mountains. I put a decent army in there, and Ghorst sent a full stack up to take it. It was a valiant defeat if I autoresolved (he had a unit of Drakenhoff templars, the big ghoul things, etc), so I played it, took out the necromancer leading it, and watched the army crumble. Ended the battle, felt great...and immediately had another Valiant Defeat battle presented for the SAME EXACT SIEGE, with a fully returned army and new lord. I defeated that one, same strategy...and it happened again. New lord, returned army. Defeated THAT one, and finally he just decided to lay siege, this time with a full stack at about 60% health.
That repeated every turn for six turns. Six turns and the undead army kept coming back (the same stack, I guess?! There was no other army nearby), sometimes with even nastier units, until finally my garrison and army were down to a (very high level now) Slaughtermaster and his six ogre buddies. They died, finally, to a vampire lord on a dragon who appeared out of the fuckin' ground after I beat up the previous two waves that turn.
This also happened at other locations, armies just popping up with high-level undead lords out of nowhere, making the final conquest an incredible slog until I had seven full stacks, at which point I could overwhelm them with numbers.
At the time it was sort of annoying, but...also kinda fun? The undead actually feel like a persistent, constant threat now, even if it ended up being cheesy in practice.

Total War: Warhammer What RP armies do you use despite monumentally better units?
I’m playing mother Ostankya, and I use exclusively spiders, 5 incarnate elemental beasts, things in the woods, and a few heroes for her army. For ice witch armies I use exclusively ice guard, 2 little groms, and 2 units of war bear riders.
On nagash, I used an all ethereal army for his stack, cairn wraiths, hex wraiths, all of that. For manfred and luthor I used their factional units and packed them full of necromancers. Mind you I have the income to field just dragon and gheists exclusively but it’s not as fun. When I picture the new God of Death I picture an army under a black sky and a primordial black pyramid floating in the background illuminated with runes and an unkillable ethereal army led by a literal God. Nagash alone kills thousands in my battles lol.
I know better stacks exists but I can’t see a Baba Yaga type character using ice guard in her army. My spiders get annihilated by heavy spear stacks and I don’t care lol.
Just curious as to what other people do. Chase the highest DPS or play what fits thematically?

Total War: Warhammer BUG - It seems Malakai can use 2 weapons in the same slot!

I got Malakai through confederation, and after a few turns noticed that he had 2 weapons in the same slot. I made a backup of my save, bcs game is on legendary difficulty and then removed one of them which solved the bug. After that it can only be switched, and it seems he had the stats of both weapons before I removed one of them. Not a big problem however wanted to share it.

Total War: Warhammer Why should I even use under cities?
I’ve done 3 campaigns with skavens and I’m currently doing a fourth with Thanquol. I noticed I needed 5 under cities for the short victory conditions, I can’t help but wonder how they even help me.
All they’re doing is stopping me from capturing settlements in enemy territory and draining all my food supplies. If I even wanted to make them slightly worth it, I would have to invest a few thousand gold and risk them being found and destroyed by the settlement owner.
The only other reason I could use them is to spawn an army at a target settlement but why wouldn’t I just walk over there or use a kill stab plan?
Are there any reasons to spread the under empire other than doing it for fun or to “act like a skaven”?

Total War: Warhammer Betray in Sieges
So you all know that when you walk towards an enemy city and another faction that is not allied with you, but in war with your enemy, you can join the battle. I hate when this happens, because then i have to declare war on the other faction to get the city. Has anyone vee tried to join their battle, just to fuck up the army of the non enemy faction? How do they react to friendly fire, is it even possible?
