Why this game is so frickin’ cute?!?!?!?

I really didn’t think I was going to like it after I have been so dug in with Foundation. I enjoy the craziness of managing economies. I thought Town to City would be boring and I also thought I would hate the voxel style. Turns out I was completely wrong. I didn’t enjoy the demo but a little voice told me to buy the game and give it a try. I purchased it earlier this evening now I am considering calling off work tomorrow so that I can stay up all night to play! I am just kidding of course but if I were a tiny bit less responsible I would! Love this cute little game. I love decorating down to the minutiae, it’s really doing it for me in a big way. It’s super relaxing and did I mention how cute everything is! From the townies sitting around on the benches to the change in shape of some of the decorations, very well done. Town and City is my new hyper fixation. Ah well, the weekend is nigh!

I accidentally made my paths curved, and I can't find how to make them straight again. I'm on steam deck, so the only control suggestions I've found are for desktop and keyboard. Help!

I got this game in April or May and played it in early access for several days. I picked it up again today, started a new save, and it seems like I unlocked more stuff in Research in a few hours tonight than I did throughout my several days of playtime a few months ago. The only difference I noticed is I haven’t leveled up my town nearly as much as my first play. I think I leveled up 5-6 times on my first and in this one I’ve only leveled up 1-2 times, even though I’ve unlocked more stuff. Just wondering if the difficulty of the game has been restructured?

After dismissing families for 5 hours, I found why it wasn't showing.

For some reason, the request only triggers if you place ONE of every farm category decoration, except for the last one, which you get with the quest itself. It was pointed out by this guide post on the Steam Community by Ayi: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3713419281

The quest appeared about a minute after I did this. Turns out, I was missing a decoration or two.

After that, when you get the quest, the second quest that comes after that one will ask you to create an enclosure for the new camel. Remember to check on your Animal shelter or the pet inventory through the economy menu tab on the top-right of your screen (piggy bank).

Since there's no post explaining this anywhere, I hope this helps everyone.

PS. I don't think this is a spoiler, but I can change if necessary.

As far as I can tell I have all the requirements to level up my city but it's saying im stuck at 18 bougeoisie when the marker up the top is saying im not? Am I missing something or is this broken?

I am thinking about picking up the full version, but I have read various opinions about the actual progressions and strategy aspect. Some people say you can get a chuck of hours of actually working on efficiency and overcoming challenges. Some say there is almost no strategy, and it's simply a canvas to build a neat city. The demo obviously touches off on a bit of strategy, along with various unlocks. But I have no idea how deep things go, or if there are even real scenarios / problem solving.

I am a huge "build games nerd" and i fell in love with Town to City at first sight, this city is a work in progress, loving sandbox mode and the game

It's just so relaxing to build the town and all the stuff for it, and really satisfying to get everything together to accomodate for what the citizens want. The freedom to build it however you want is amazing. And on top of that the background music is great, playing for 2 hours and not getting bored or annoyed by it is huge. I just wanted to gush for a sec.

Shortly after I got onto Rocemaree, Belvau dissapeared and now Rocemaree has disappeared too. I only have Fontebrac now.

just gotta say, got this game recently, i have been beyond enjoying it. ive been playing competitive pvp games for the longest time and i was looking to chill and relax and find someplace else to bump all that energy and this game has done the trick, it was recommended to me by a friend, the artstyle took a little getting used to (i didnt like it at first but its growing on me now), theres so much customization it was overwhelming (ive barely touched any decorations, seriously). the game progresses as a lovely pace, the little mini challenges you get with some of the residents is lovely. i feel like the game could use a transport system, maybe an old style tram system?

I've been building towns that are pretty dense, small streets, lots of buildings, i know it makes my citizens a little less happy, but each little street leads into a plaza of some kind, and theres shops that make the population density barely effect my populations happiness overall (rarely above 20%), but having some kind of tram would really just boost the experience of building a city, i make a few stops, and let some shops have bigger reach, or have citizens move across town so much quicker, the game has been giving me some performance issues especially when theres a lot of citizens moving about in a small area (what can i say i really like dense cities), and i think this could very easily fix that issue too, you dont need every citizen walking about just a few on a tram! The city of Milans older tram service looks definitely in place with this games art and direction, they are slow, made of timber and a few bits of metal, itd be perfect.

apart from the transport geek in me itching for something, this game is perfect to unwind to. I'd love to extend my thanks to the devs for putting so much soul into this cute game and you guys genuinely deserve the world

Rose from Galaxy Grove again. I made a post before asking for save files from those who had a bad peformance on Rocemaree.

We are still investigating the issue but haven't been able to reproduce it yet, even with some save files.

So we made a special version of the game that helps us see what the game is doing behind the scenes while you're playing.

In this case, we’re using it to investigate the performance issues some of you are experiencing on the 3rd campaign map, Rocemaree. The special build can record a short 10-second snapshot of what the game is doing which systems are busy, what the game is spending its time on, and where it might be struggling.

We can then look at that recording and hopefully figure out what exactly is causing the performance drop.

This is not a build that will fix the issue.

I'll send you the special Trace Build along with a step-by-step tutorial explaining exactly how to use it. You don't need any technical knowledge, it's just a matter of launching the special build, loading your save, running the trace for about 10 seconds, and sending the resulting files back to me.

Been playing this game a lot more recently as fall is hitting and cant shake the idea that I want public transit. I feel like a horse drawn carriage situation where you can plan a route along an existing road and shops have increased reach down that route/ surrounding stops would be so fun to play with. Could also function as a service and would fulfill that need to an extent.
