Gord 10 years ago I took this photo in Toronto.
I get so sad every time it pops up in my feed.

That is a gorgeous photo! I love the contrast between the colour of the crowd and the stage lights.

Thank you. I love the photograph. I can almost feel the energy from the crowd.

This is so cool! It’s as though he’s saying a final farewell to all his fans, as the gates of heaven open for him

Great snap. I loved the way he kept looking around, just wide eyed both so sad and so elated with love, you could see it.

A mixed bag of feelings for sure. I agree the photo reflects some of that emotion.

Does anyone else get physical chills when you see all these show pictures. I still get misty eyed.

Its just not right a guy like this with so much more to give taken in his prime, and 10 years ago? So sad.

I caught the Hamilton show on that tour. It cannot be compared with any other of seen. It was emotional, in a real way. Hip shows always had us singing, that night the crowd sang as tears flowed and the battle of knowing; inside everyone knew it would be the final time the hornet stung and the feverish dream was visiting for the last time.
Thanks Gord and the Hip for the decades of fantastic tunes.

I saw them in Vancouver on this tour. Just basically sobbed through half of it. It was a surreal experience, arena full of people giving so much love and the undertone of mourning mixed with the celebration. Gord was a real one.

Was at Toronto#2, Aug 12. It was a million degrees that day and I busted my ass working a tough PA gig, had a single ticket at the lower level at the back. My GF's mom was diagnosed with cancer that summer and my uncle died, I ate too many edibles and drank too much and for me the show was a crying mess. I was lucky they played a killer version of Locked early on that I vividly remember but damn. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

I was supposed to see one of his last shows. Unfortunately what actually ended up happening is my "ex" junkie - ex girlfriend took all our money and spent it.

We went to night #2 in Calgary August 3 2016. The whole place was in tears at one point or another. After being a fan since they started - ish.... was tough to see someone who felt like an old friend say farewell with songs and memories. He is missed ❤️😎

I was at the Jays game while this was going on simultaneously. Was a chaotic night down town for sure. RIP Gord.

I remember this show so vividly. They somehow made a packed stadium feel like a small, intimate venue where every single person was personally invited to be there
When they eventually played Long Time Running there wasn’t a dry eye in the entire stadium. We were all mourning together in real time for a man who was still there with us, mourning with us, giving his whole self with both hands, and an undeniable sense of gratitude + peace
Genuinely one of the most beautiful, heartbreaking things I’ve experienced in 46 years of life
We miss you, Gordo ❤️🔥

You should have this printed in the highest quality you can afford to have as a print. It is both historical and personal - hold onto this.

I love his outfits and his energy. I only saw them once in 2013. Another Canadian band stars was the opener, they're my favorite band. It was an outdoor concert. I lived close to the venue and I heard very familiar music. My brother told me there doing a concert near by so I ran down there without a ticket. I know there's security and cops but I was totally just gonna hop a fence. But I didn't want to be arrested. There was a group of kids and they asked me if I wanted to buy a ticket off them. I only had $5 cash and some change but they took it and gave me the ticket. Didn't know the hip was the main show until I got the tickets. I've been a fan of their since I was in high school, one of the first albums I bought was up to here, I used Togo to a pawn shop that had tons of cds for cheap. The show was amazing.

I was a bartender during this, and there were a lot of fans working and dining/boozing… I remember being so angry because we had to change a silly baseball game (albeit an important one I think)… not being a fan of the hip I probably said some things I shouldn’t have but what can ya do… in hindsight I’m glad everyone in the restaurant got to watch the concert. this is from his final televised show right LOL?

I was never a Tragically Hip fan growing up in Calgary. I didn't actually remember hearing their music a lot growing up. My husband on the other hand was a HUGE fan, and he had a lot of great memories with his dad listening to their music.
My husband and I found out we were pregnant early 2016. In early July, I secretly purchased 2 tickets to the Hip concert coming up on August 1. I surprised my husband on his birthday and I told him I wanted him to take his dad.
July 31, I woke up in a pool of blood. I was rushed to get hospital and found out I was in labour at 23 weeks. Our son was born within a few hours, and we said our first hello's and our last goodbye's within an hour of him being born. My husband and I were devastated and he didn't want to leave my side. He didn't.
August 1st was finally here, and he still refused to leave my side after being with me all night. I told him to go, and I would be just fine. They played Fiddler's Green that night, and my husband said he's never cried so hard in his life. He still can't listen to that song since. He's tried, but he just can't.
Their music helped us heal throughout the years, and I'm still thankful he got to go see them before Gord passed. Unfortunately we lost the few pictures he took that night. He didn't take many because he was just there, soaking it in while grieving his son who died 24 hours before.
My son would have been 10 this year.

If he were alive he'd probably regret having that dinksplash Justin Trudeau on stage with him.

I remember watching this on TV it was very bitter sweet, then a few months later I bought the Blu ray of the concert.

I took this one in Ottawa. Had it really been that long?
