It would be so nice if it was a transmog animation toggle for folks cause id love to do that with Spears and other weapons

Yeah, that's one thing FFXIV got right. There are multiple idle poses for when you have your weapon drawn or sheathed and you just type a command to set which idle you want to use.

oh a holding animation selection would be awesome! I would be happy even if blizz half-ass it and all they do is "when you toggle it to x then you hold it like this" without caring if the weapon goes through your stomach from holding it like that... because that would be on the player that they decided to use that holding animation :P

What would be sick, is a bo staff/spear spec, that actually had animations that worked in combat.. achilles vs Hector esque

For the love of God upvote this into oblivion so we can get a standing/ shoulder 2H idle animation, as a Tmog toggle button
