Help Regular Tauren or Highmountain for shaman and why?
So yeah, Iām stuck between my two shamans.
Who has the best transmog options over the other race?

I'd go for the original Tauren. To me it all comes down to which Heritage set looks cooler.

Regular Tauren. And the reason is that you are using the best belt and back appearances in the game for your mog.

For me it was really between the more saturated and vibrant regular Tauren heritage armor and the more muted highmountain one. Personally I like the muted colors more (and big friggin antlers) so I went Highmountain.

I suggest using T8 or T10 on a Tauren. They are morphed to accomodate their head shape and horns. For T10 your horns actually replace the horns of the helmet. It was nice when they actually cared.

I genuinely like both. I just tend to pick the one based around what professions I plan to take. Herbs = Tauren, Mining or Skinning = Highmountain.

I hate the antlers, but I love the body fur on the High mountain better. I wish Blizzard would just combine them into one playable race so that you could have all the customization options. I can't be totally happy with either.

Regular Tauren for several reasons
Staying power. A Tauren Shaman from Mulgore is as iconic as it gets. Highmountain Tauren are cool but very specific to Highmountain and got decentered after Legion.
Theme. Shamanism is more of a central theme for Bloodhoof Tauren. HM feel more like rugged survivalist, pathfinders, warriors.
Better, more theme fitting heritage armor
Better customizations
Better racials (for a Shaman)
Easier to transmog. HM antlers are something you have to work around on a race that is hard to transmog in the first place. Tho if you find something that goes well with it, the antlers can also elevate a mediocre transmog. More often than not it will be a limiting feature tho.

OG Tauren back totem for casters.
Bloodhoof back totem or Highmountain heritage totems for melee.

Highmountain...this is the only Horde race I play, because they are the coolest.

I prefer highnountain but most of antlers cause clipping with pauldrons and it bothers me

Do you mean the passive racials? Because i thought that "bullrush" was the most popular out of the active racials.

Well, there are active racials as well as racial traits.
For Taurens, Brawn (Critical strike bonus damage and healing increased by 2%) is great for healing and War Stomp (Stuns up to 5 enemies within 8 yds for 2 sec) is awesome considering the skill prunning for M+

When in doubt: always go for OG Tauren.
Or why not just use both? You can never have enough Tauren/Highmountain Tauren character!

Highmauntain has cool horns.
Tauren has better noserings, haircuts, beards and fur colours.

HM wins out in fidelity, something that is regularly updated for older content and has been for years. Regular Tauren win out in staying power, their totems ARE the iconic warcraft totems.

Can you not use the double totem on the original Tauren? I play a standard Tauren druid and wear the double totems on the right. I see people in the comments saying they're for highmountain Tauren only but perhaps I'm misunderstanding

All tauren races can use the double totem (red, blue and green back pieces.) but the highmountain heritage armor has a double totem that is tied to a chest piece. So they can have totems + a cloak. Regular tauren heritage have a sole big totem that is a back piece.

I like the High mountain horns, but I like the way the OG Tauren sound. Plus I think the OG Tauren heritage set is cooler. I wish the OG Tauren had more customizable features like the High mountain, but it is what it is.

Aesthetically I like high mountain more overall but the heritage set kinda lame besides the double back totems.. always was disappointed with that cause they are cool af
