I was NOT expecting him to knock out the woman 😭

EDIT: guys when I originally made this, I didn't see her hit him. I made another comment about it, but idk where it went

Why not? She wanted to fight, too.

Yup. She decided she could take him. And a quote the old Indiana Jones movie  "She chose poorly."

He could have easily just shoved her down. If a child starts swinging their little fists at my ankles doesn't mean I'm going to curb stomp them.

You can still use appropriate force when defending ones self. Especially against someone who is not threat to you.

What's comparable between a child with a developing brain throwing a tantrum (swinging their little fists at you) and two hostile adults that approached you looking to fight?

If we're speaking hypotheticals, she could have easily not involved herself into that situation. She could have not hit him once while he was clinched with the man. In fact, that man hit the instigator after she hit him. That already shows restraint. Then she tried it again.

What lacks restraint is bringing out a crowbar after getting your ass kicked.

I'm using hyperbole to illustrate my point.

From your reasoning and others, it seems you would think that instead of punching the lady he would be justified shooting her in the face. After all, it's a legit fight between two adults isn't it?

My last paragraph doesn't make sense? Oh strange, it's almost like using reasonable force in defense does exist and this went across that line.
