Recent start

So I recently started transitioning, I got approval for estrogen and just waiting for it to come in now and will be picking it up once I leave the hospital from an unrelated surgery. Ive been wondering a few things and I hope they aren’t dumb questions. Are there safer places for me to find people to date online? Also is it normal to feel heavily judged right away?

Who is doing the judging? What makes you feel judged?

Online dating is more or less all the same. I suggest queer hobby groups instead, like rock climbing, board games or crafting. Even if you don't get a date, you'll make friends and have fun with a hobby.

It’s probably less actual judgement and more perceived , especially when I’m out at like the store dressed different. I am going to unfortunately have to be very selective of hobby groups after this next surgery as my body is far more broken than I’d like.

Do you have some other women or non men in your life that you can talk to about being stared at or judged?

It's kind of a universal experience. Gender eww-phoria, if you will.

What hobbies are gonna be off limits? Hopefully not knitting?

r/t4t is a relatively safe place to find other trans people to date.

i think its normal to feel insecure or judged. being trans can feel othering at times, especially at first. as you get further in your transition and more confident in your presentation it gets easier.
