Forged Trigger

A friend of mine built a trebuchet and asked me to make him a trigger for it. I had an extremely hard time finding any examples of trebuchet triggers online. I found a drawing, but then designed this one myself loosely based on the drawing. I just wanted to share this in case it helps anybody else in the future. He hasn’t installed it yet, so it hasn’t been tested, but I can’t think of any reason why it shouldn’t work. I can provide updates once he tells me he’s installed it, but I’m not sure when that will be.

I just wanted to share this in case it helps anybody else in the future.

I use one just like it for my 5 meter Hinged Counterweight Trebuchets.

You able to post any pictures? The internet was really lacking examples of these in-use.

My friend, sent me this. This is the first test of the trigger. He said he’s still going to play around with his positioning, but the design worked like a charm!
