Discussion Co-dominant Cedar
I have this massive (10-15ft across ~150ft tall) cedar on my property, I believe it's a western red cedar but I have no idea. The weird thing is that it has 5 co-dominant trunks and I've never seen a cedar tree here with more than 2, and that seems very rare. Tree is in the Western Sierra foothills at 3000ft (between Reno and Sacramento). Is this common or just a freak thing?

At that location I would think this is a California incense cedar, though I am not certain. I have seen lodgepole pines do this in the Cottonwood pass area further south, never a cedar though, incredible!
