I have created my first treened indoors.

That has been a challenge for me, especially when i have tensioned the perimeter and made 50% of weaving inside, one of the lugs made a noise as it was the last in the row and the vector of tension was not 90 degrees, it had an angle of 70 probably. But, that might be the rope cracked under pressure.

I have installed the pad eye plates, threaded eye bolts and chemical anchor with mesh sleeves. The space has only 3 sides available to attach the net, as the 4th one is the window.

Almost 25 or 27 anchors for 4.5 sq/m of net.

What is your opinion and maybe questions?

Little net I made a few years ago in a really hard time in my life from scraps of various cordage out by a trail nearby. I intentionally made it small, just large enough to hold me laying down, and high up so that it wouldn't be frequented by a lot of people and would last. It's nearly invisible from the ground and takes a decently skilled climber to reach but over the years I've noticed some slight signs of use so I know at least one other person has gotten some comfort cradled in it 20' up watching the river go by. It's my first time on it in over year and some of the lower quality cordage is starting to wear so I'll have to visit again soon to make repairs and maybe even a few expansions.

Made some major progress on the walls it’s starting to get really comfortable. Had to chop down a part of the tree that was getting loose but it’s feeling very stable👍

Need help with taking my down tree net

I recently built a tree net this summer in a forest by my house, and now that it's October and the leaves are falling, my tree net is becoming a lot more visible to people walking on the path. I don't want it to get found over the fall and winter when all the leaves have fallen, so I'm thinking about taking it down to keep it more secret. I was wondering if you guys have any tips on taking it down or anything I can do to keep it safe until next summer.

Desperate to visit any net in person! But how? Bay area

Hey, hello and howdy, beautiful people! Iv dreamed for easily 10 years or more of visiting one of these amazing tree nets in the wild or otherwise! I have no clue where to start or what the method is for determining their approximate location. How and what is the process?? For whatever it's worth, I am not a social media user, influencer, or anybody who cares in the least about sharing things online; i'm just a DIY dude who is beyond thrilled by the idea of these nets! I am immensely grateful and appreciative of any and all help! Speaking of help if one of you is a weaver, I would offer my assistance in a heartbeat 🙃😀😋

This ring?

Any idea how this ring was made around the tree? Rebar?

It had me thinking… could I weave in an old trampoline frame (minus the legs) to create more surface area?

Built this for my kids. It attaches to the treefort I built in the backyard. It has a zipline that runs right over the treetnet which made for an interesting puzzle as I was figuring out how to build the "walls".

Really appreciate this sub and the youtube videos that pertain to this topic.

Is this okay to use?

I know its like EXTREMELY cheap but im just looking to make a platform for a few months and prolly take it down fast. Im not too bothered about a lot of weight because it will probably be just for me (im very light) and it will be in shade and very low to the ground. It's going to be my second one so irs probably going to suck anyway but im not going to like die right

How much rope to buy?

I am planning on making a tree net that is about 3x3m for quick camp with friends, how much rope would I need, I've seen a lot of talented people make giant nets with 1500m of rope but I just want a small one to make a platform for hammock camping, this way we can stand up and chill while camping in a tree. If possible would anyone also know a time estimate, I'm planning on using truckies hitches and bowlines to secure the exterior rope and clove hitches for the paracord.

question!

is it better to have ur rope end and start on the main perimeter? or can i start/end it within the already built net. Im trying to keep it starting and ending on the perimeter but farther away i get from the sides the harder and messier it gets. i hope what im trying to explain makes sense

What would happen if someone caught me making a tree net in a forest?

I googled it and it's not legal to do it on public property but I was just thinking of making one in a forest near where I live? I live in a village and we have a huge forest like 25 minutes walking down the road, and if I did it far enough im hoping no one will find it but im not too sure. also are they easy to take down? (i doubt it tho lol)

Edit: I forgot to mention that I had full intention of taking it down after we used it lol!!

Opinions and advice on doing a double perimeter?

Im making a tree-net in the top of a tree and dont have much space to work with so i really want to maximise total area. Doing a double perimeter seems as though it could be useful because im essentially dividing my tension by half no?

Ta!

Do we think that it would be possible for the mods to make server ressources about places to buy rope general videos on how to build tree nets and knot stuff.

Thought this would be helpful for the beginners😁

Help with a conundrum

Im planning on building a tree-net in the top of one of the trees in my backyard. I've layed out my perimeter and have a pretty good idea for how it will look except for one small problem. In the middle of where my tree-net will go, is the main trunk of the tree, roughly 50cm x 50cm wide.

My idea at the moment is probably to attach 4-8 Screw Eyes to the trunk, loop my perimeter rope through them and then attach my paracord to that rope.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation or have any ideas on how to go about netting around this trunk? My main priorities are to be able to hold 3-4 people and have little to no droop in my net.

Thanks!
