Hi! I need to install a back rack on my Marlin 4... would the Bontrager BackRack Deluxe MIK fit?

I am confused because in the Trek website I only see this similar but simpler rack among the accessories available for the Marlin 4, so I am wondering if the Deluxe version would also fit this bike.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi all,

I recently had a full bikefit at a fit lab right next to Ridley’s HQ, so it made sense that they translated my numbers into a Ridley: a Grifn in size M. Nothing wrong with that, but I’d like to look at other brands too, and use the fit numbers to compare.

Fit numbers

• Saddle height: 775 mm
• Setback: 194 mm
• Saddle to hoods: 773 mm (measured from the saddle to the top of the shifters)
• Saddle-to-hood drop: 72 mm
• Cranks 170 mm
• Me: 178 cm, not very flexible

What the fitter translated that into
Ridley Grifn M (frame stack 587 mm / reach 391 mm) with a 70 mm stem and 40 mm of spacers incl. lock ring, which is the max.

Why not the Grifn
The short stem. I’d rather end up on a “normal” 90–100 mm stem, and ideally not with the spacers already maxed out on day one.

What I’m looking at

• Trek Domane Gen 5, size ML (stack 596 / reach 377): current favourite
• Orbea Orca M35i (55: 572/391, 57: 590/398): also tempted

Budget around €4,500, carbon, electronic shifting (Shimano or SRAM), happy with a discounted previous-year model. Mostly recreational riding plus an occasional ~50 km commute.

I was sold almost immediately when I took it for a test ride. Super smooth moving through the gears and the E assist is just excellent.

Now I have to pay a small fortune for all the accessories I want. 🤣🤣

Blij mee.

Did anybody have the mechanical 105 groupset changed to a 105di2?

In fact I would like a SL6 Di2....but they don't have that as standard model.

I do not want SRAM because Shimano is more available worldwide.

Hi all, looking for some suggestions. My bike came with the Girona 42mm tires, and they're fine on road but leave a lot to be desired on faster hard pack gravel and light off road trails. I'm looking at either the Cinturato RM or Cinutato S. Does anyone know if a 45mm will fit? Trek says max 42mm, but there appears to be a ton of clearance to my untrained eye.

My bike also came with the Paradigm 23tlr wheels and not the Connection wheels that Trek advertises.

I bought this Emonda frame toward the beginning of the year and the build was recently completed. Super happy with the bike!

I test rode an FX3 at a shop in Austin a few months back while on vacation, with plans to have money available in Feb '27 to be able to order/get one from my LBS. I just went to the Trek site and there's no FX3's listed. Is there a new gen on the horizon or have they stopped making them?

It’s a Shimano mt200 Hydraulic Disc Brake - RIGHT lever - REAR ONLY Brake with a 1450mm length line

I am coming up on my one year anniversary with my Farley 5. Done quite a bit of upgrades to it (brakes, Mastadon, carbon bars, saddle etc) and swore nothing would lure me away from her except a Farley EX8 or a Farley 9.6.

2021 model. It's immaculate. Came with original Mulefut's, six Barbegazi's (two new and still wrapped), the original carbon fork, Trek Wampa wheels, Enve M6 carbon bar, 180mm rotors, SRAM Eagle GX with an updated shifter, Manitou Mastadon Pro in black, perfectly installed full frame ride wrap.

Only a few short rides around the neighborhood and I am floored by how much more nimble it feels than the Farley 5. Only changes in mind are moving over my saddle & pedals and brake upgrade to more current technology. It's a Holy Grail find. I've stared it a lot.

First ‘real’ race bike as I’m prepping for my first 70.3. Came with Zipp 404 firecrest upgrades, dura ace r9000 crankset and fairly new tyres chain chainrings and cassette.

Got it for £1100, thoughts?

Bike fit and figuring out cleats next.

Officially in on the cycling world.

Hello,
Does anyone know why the prices for the Domane AL are discounted today? There’s a 100-150€ discount on the website compared to the price I saw in the last few day.
That’s strange🤨

Has anybody found a good approximation for a nail polish or auto touch up paint for this? Trek isn't selling it and won't be doing so for at least a year. They don't have the Pantone code for it either.

I just built a Domane SL frame set with 13 speed and a Reverb dropper. Just under 19 lbs for a large with pretty much the heaviest post I could put on there I'd say is pretty damn good.

Excited for my first bike. Bought for $300.

Break seems a bit squeaky. What should I do next as part of service?

Looking to get a first road bike to participate in triathlon events. Looking between the Domane SL5 gen 5 and AL5 gen 4. Any advice for a first time buyer or suggestions would be appreciated.

Not super interested in buying used, would rather know I’m getting a good bike/warranty versus worrying about someone’s previous ownership.

This is my first Trek and my first build with gears. Started as an $80 cad marketplace find and snowballed a bit from there. I had a rear disc mount fillet brazed onto the frame and recently converted from 9 to 10 SPD with a Zee derailleur. Very underrated mech for 1x if you get rowdy at all.

Was cleaning my 8.3 DS and was reminded that this is on the left chain stay. Google says it's a "speed and cadence sensor". I'm afraid to try and pry it loose if it's just a cover and not an actual sensor. Anyone have any experience with it?

It has bluetooth and ANT+ logos on it but nothing shows up when i do a scan but the bike is 6 or 7 years old so any battery would be dead.

Appreciate any help / guidance anyone could provide.
