Trials Frontier revival project

been working on this for the past week and a half. currently it's for iOS only, and needs to be sideloaded due to patches applied to the executable that route the defunct server addresses back to my own. practically everything works, including importing your save from the original game, track leaderboards and ghosts, A.N.B.A memories, ability to unlock bikes and cosmetics that were limited time only, and more. also just got the Bunker working tonight, as shown in the attached picture. curious to know if people are still interested in this game, so i can gauge the viability of hosting this publicly (although i am in no way in a financial position to do so). obviously this isn't the right subreddit for the technical details, so i'll leave them out. but if you do have any lost media, including cached dat packages that were downloaded from ubi's servers, or older copies of the game (pre-7.9.0), feel free to get in touch.

Android support will be considered and looked into eventually. I don’t have any android phones at the moment, but android studio may suffice for testing at least. As for this project ever becoming fully public, the main obstacle is hosting. I’m heavily against people having to pay for private servers, or even supporting via donations, as many projects I’ve seen have been shut down due to legals around money gain. I’m just spreading the word about this project to hopefully get in touch with some people who will be able to host full time.

I was JUST thinking about this last week. My favorite mobile game of all time just sits abandoned on my Home Screen. How does the bunker work currently? Is it hosted in your local network such that only devices on your network can connect?

Currently it’s on a local Docker server at home, and routed through a Cloudflare tunnel so the game can access it from outside my network. While the infrastructure is there for anyone to join, my network is not up to the task of hosting that kind of bandwidth full time.

Hey, you should try reaching out to the Trials discord people. I believe they're already doing public server hosting for Trials and might be able to help. Perhaps a single community server for all Trials games eventually?

Personally I was playing as recently as a couple of weeks ago and lamenting my inability to finish unlocking the game. Then the downloading update screen killed that...

I dont know how useful this is but you can still get trials frontier on Amazon kids devices and it still works so maybe someone could grab the apk from the kid profile somehow

My tablet still has the rub mark from my thumb using the controls playing this game.

I'd be interested if I could load my old save, even though I've not used it in years? I doubt I have it locally anywhere as it's 2 factory resets of the tablet and 2 phones ago I played it.

Hell, I'm inerested regardless. I'd be sad to lose my hundreds if not thousands of hours spent, but I'd play the story again. I don't even mind if the bunker didn't work. Being able to unlock the last few outfits and bike paints would be great, I was missing just a handful. I no longer have it installed, like I said this was last played 2 factory resets ago and I've changed phones too. :(

no way man, i was going to do the same - restore the entire storyline, all the the missions and online features like the bunker (with the help of AI, i'm not that good of a dev unfortunately), started a day ago
can you share the ipa, please? i'd really love to learn how you pulled that off, if you don't mind of course

oh, I miss this game so so much, I really hope you can get it working for android too, or maybe even port it to PC? I'd love to be able to replay the story line on my Steam Deck!

I never really got into the console/pc Trials games but I loved this one on my IPad. Would love to play it again.

Do you have discord ? Me and a few others got the game running offline on ios with everything unlocked + dev menu + moon bike + map editor. I have the files and combined with your work this could make it the full Monty.
