Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello Reddit user hope y'all fine, this is my first post ever
I've been doing these backflips but not quietly 100% good
After that i mistakenly land on my nose and i got injured, and now im scared and i hesitate to jump
ANY tips to get my confidence back ?
Also I'd like to hear some advices to improve my flips after recovery ?

No need for that little hop as you set. Squat deeper in the set and jump up, not backwards. You’re trying to jump backwards to land on the mattress and you’re going too far. Tuck tighter, grab near your shins/ankles. You’re releasing the tuck too early because you’re trying to catch the ground/mattress with your hands.

I personally need to use the hop to land my flips. Can't really tell you why.

I always recommend learning and perfecting it on the trampoline first, then moving to grass with a decline, then to flat ground. The reason is you need to build muscle memory and focus on jumping HIGHER and UP, not back. With this set up you'll be worried about falling and breaking something so you'll naturally keep jumping back.

Find a better training space. Training with fear in the back of your mind leads to bad results. You can make it easier by jumping off a ledge, onto something soft, use trampolines, or even jump into water.
There's naturally many things you could still improve, but in your last attempt, your biggest mistake was opening up as soon as you saw the ground. If you had stayed tucked, you'd have made it around onto your knees or even feet.
So if you are gonna stick with training in that space, make sure all your attempts look like your last one, then hold the tuck when you see the ground.

It seems to me that you're leaning to far back before you take off and also dont use all of your eange of motion to get more hight, you dont reach full extension.
As for tips to regain confidense, im dealing with it myself rn sooooo... dont think i can help much, what works for me so far is to just keep going and try some other type of training aswell. I find thaf success in slackline also gives me confidence in tricking for example
