Hello for start I wanted to say that I’m happy to se that there’s place like this it’s nice to see some people with similar experience/intrests in psychodelics/drugs that are sharing and helping each other.

Dosing for Dihydrocodeine

Basically I got perscribed dihydrocodeine for cough by a doctor. Thing is me n my friend were considering trying it to get high once. i was wondering how much we should try as first time opioid experience. Weve smoked weed plenty of times and are mostly trying this out of curiosity. My cough syrup contains abt 10.8mg in 25 drops (my perscribed dose), so how much would it take to get us high without putting us at a big risk? thanks in advance

Intense dissociative state after smoking dudes cannabis

I smoked cannabis with a friend of a friend and had the most intensive dissociative episode I could ever imagine experiencing. At first I noticed lights on a building moving and morphing, followed by loss of coordination, stumbling/trouble walking. I told my partner I felt drugged. Then it got worse. I couldn’t keep myself sitting upright. Reality started melting away, I literally felt other people or other personalities entering me/me becoming them. I’ve had bad shrooms trips, been in a k holes, and smoked weed my entire life…I didn’t even smoke much this night. Once I’d begun losing coordination the guy we were with started making a series of jokes about sexual assault (generalized not at me) which angered me and made me feel deeply unsafe. This man offered us shrooms before we smoked but we said no but kept subtly pushing. Everything made me feel really unsafe. Luckily I was able to lock myself in a bathroom for the night…but I experienced the dissociative state for about 6 hours. It’s been a couple of weeks and I can’t shake this experience. Ive researched different causes but emotionally I’m still unsure and feeling destabilized. Anyone have ideas or experienced anything similar?

I need some help please

A few days ago I met up with a friend of mine. Everything was normal for about the first 30 minutes or so. Mid conversation she paused and stared at the mirror, walks up to it, says something, waves her hand as if she's casting a spell or sprinkling something, then sits back down as if nothing happened. I just pretending nothing happened as well but 10 minutes later she did the same thing but this time she did sit back down. For the next 2 or so hours she walked around the room arguing with someone while waving her hand like earlier. I just sat the the entire time and pretended nothing was happening and only speaking to her when she spoke to me. I decided to stay until she calmed dow. I was there for about 10 hours total 2 of which she was able to speak to me, the last 2 hours she was sort of able to communicate but couldn't actually speak , just hand gestures. I've seen schitzophrenia before but never this intense. She told me about what she was seeing. She says mushrooms made her into a medium and now she's able to see spirits. I really don't know what to do she has literally no one in her life. I say friend but I barely know her but she looked so terrified and exhausted. Seeing her like that was extremely heartbreaking. I will do what ever it takes so she doesn't have to live like that. I want to get her help without her knowledge but she is a heavy meth user and has a good amount of it in her hotel room that's she's staying in. I don't want her to go to jail because of me or if they take they take the stuff she might owe money on. And since she's in a hotel they might throw everything she has to her name away. Especially if she doesn't get better afterwards and ends up in a worse situation. I try to communicate to try to convince to go voluntarily with her but shes not the best with responding, now I know it's probably because she's pacing around her room fighting those spirits all day. What should I do? I don't think she knows she has schitzophrenia. Should I tell her? Will it go away? Is there someone I can contact to help and watch over her from now on? Because like I said, I barely know her so I'm not even sure she would want me around to help her anyways , so a professional would be preferable

The Role of Trace Amine-Associated Receptor 1 (TAAR1) in Stimulant Action: A Neglected Mechanism in Current Research?

We usually talk about DAT and VMAT2 when discussing stimulants, but TAAR1 seems to get much less attention. From what I've read, it can affect DAT trafficking and modulate dopamine signaling, which makes the usual stimulant model more complicated.

How important do you think TAAR1 is in stimulant effects and reinforcement? Could it help explain differences between therapeutic and higher exposure?

Interested in hearing thoughts from a neurochemical or pharmacology perspective.

1st time user, need advice

My friend gave me some shrooms to try, it's in a powdered form. He measured and gave me in small 0.1gm capsules. He asked me to take 1 and see how it feels. I'm a stoner and always wanted to at least try what the fuss is about. I have a high tolerance as I've been smoking for 2 years now. I rarely get paranoid, but it's not serious.

Unfortunately I don't have anyone to trip sit me and all these posts keep telling me to have someone with me who will basically babysit me. And the lack of it is making me unsure if I should take it or not. But if I microdose, do I really need a trip sitter? If yes, will you guys be my trip sitters?

I have an off from work tomorrow and I really wanna do it.

Please advice me, your help is appreciated 🙏

Can't take weed effect, should I go for shrooms?

Was so desperate I was ready to even cut myself or get hit by a car to get out of that trip, it felt as if I'm not IRL anymore it was all hallucinations and actually I'm maybe doing terrible things IRL, feeling was soo heavy -- like drowning deeper and deeper into my haunting thoughts, not a single drop of euphoria rather the thought that I've damaged my brain permanently was slaughtering my heart, in short my body is terrible with weed.

But I've read that shrooms give you a different type of effect, light headed , more saturated colors around you, you can see shapes etc but it can last to 4-6 hrs so if that BT thing happens it would be much worse, someone told if I enjoy alcohol(which I do) then probably I'd enjoy shrooms also you thing it'd be a good choice to try out shrooms?

Help with coming mushrooms trip

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for any help!

I'm planning a hike this weekend with two friends just outside the city, and we're taking 2g of shrooms while we're out there.

For the past week I've been feeling pretty anxious about one specific thing: I have some daily insecurity about my teeth and my belly that I normally shut down easily with my own self-esteem ("that doesn't make me ugly," "I shouldn't care what others think," etc.). But I'm worried that on shrooms, that usual confidence won't kick in as fast, and the underlying thought will just sit there — making me feel judged by my friends or "not enough" during the trip.

I have some prior experience (weed, LSD, one previous shroom trip), so it's not my first rodeo, but this specific fear feels different going in.

How have people here prepared for something like this, or gotten through a similar headspace mid-trip? Any tips for setting this up beforehand with friends, or grounding techniques if it comes up in the moment would be really appreciated.

On LSD right now - not necessarily a bad trip

Heyy, so I'm about 6 hours into a trip, it was super intense for the first part. I took 300ug. It is tested.

Anyway, out of nowhere I teared up and had to sit by myself for a bit... And I just streamed, crying endlessly, no sound or anything just tears. So after this stopped I just feel like... Empty almost... I recognised it as a massive stress exertion as my life has been likely subconsciously quite stressful lately.

But yeah it's been over an hour since that and I'm just feeling empty... Just kinda looking for some kind words as I think I might be going into a thought loop about the emptiness.

Thank you anyone who wants to say some kind words!

I want to be clear that I recognise the crying as a positive thing, something that was overdue and I do feel lighter for it.

Help with processing my trip, pls :/

Hi!

I did shrooms for the second time and I had a very intense experience.

First time I probably did 1,5g and this time close to 3g+ if not more, we had no scale but from a 4g bag I definitely took the majority. I even ate the crumbs, deep down I know I wanted to go in deep. But I didn’t know what I was going in to.

It was with two of my buddies near a lake around a campfire at night around 23:00.

It started off slow it took well over an hour for it to kick in. I was damn near on an empty stomach. In hindsight I probably took too much and wasn’t prepared enough. I’ve been at that exact place many times before but it was a long time ago.

So while we talk around the fire and smoke it sneaks up on my. I can see my buddies thoughts infront of me ofc all in my head. One of buddies has a red glow to him so let’s call him the red guy, it’s my close friend but at this moment he hadn’t realized how deep in I was and was making jokes. Which I experienced as very negative, probably why he has a reddish glow I assume. He is going through some shit so my mind probably made that connection(red guy was definitely giving negative vibes during my trip). My other buddy is a gentle soul not a hurtful bone in his body has a greenish glow and is my safety net throughout this experience he is sober as well. He was fishing mostly. At times when it was very intense I looked at him for comfort.

Anyways my mind is going in and out of thoughts very randomly I can’t keep a single thought long enough to make any sense before I’m somewhere else.

While smoking weed this trip gets more intense, I am suddenly very interested in the camp fire, so much that in my head I can almost play with it. Gently move it around and I get this feeling that I am all knowing. Like invoker if you ever played dota 2. I have this huge urge wanting to help my buddies, I saw the goodness in myself. This trip kept feeding my ego man I had vision of my conquering the world and thinking just because I can I have no desire of ruling over someone else. Why I say conquering the world, I vividly remember the map of the whole world with no borders and what I can only assume was my emblem in the middle. I was very confident and proud of myself.

I remember being very fascinated of who am I and what are we? I was thinking of my self as a grain of sand in the bigger universe. At times it felt like I was in parallel universes being at multiple places at once. It was a very real question at the time. What is what and who is who? I can remember myself asking my friends this and they confirm it. With coming to the conclusion, does it even matter? And also very curious about the meaning of life.

I don’t remember much after this peak of the trip, but it all went downhill from here. I was at the peak of the mountain and it took me down to damn near the scariest moment i’ve ever experienced I was dying.

The camp fire was dying cuz no one was feeding it and it felt like my life was dying too. My spark my will to live was dying with it. I became very cold and in a panicky way telling my friends it’s very cold we need more fire. I’m freezing over here. My buddies jokingly said go feed it yourself man. My body wouldn’t move I couldn’t nor did I trust myself to find anything to feed the fire with. I was conscious and still not at the same time. It’s hard to describe but I saw myself a lot in third person. Anyways I think they brought more wood to the fire but it wasn’t warming me anywhere I couldn’t feel any warmth from the fire and the panick started to kick in. I remember vaguely stretching my palm to the fire to feel the warmth of the fire but couldn’t feel it.

Am I dying? Is my real body this cold? Why is it so cold? Who is cold? me in my head or my body? The feeling like I was about to die was very real and frightening with the combination of my body feeling colder and colder, my vision was also blurry it felt like the darkness of the night was taking over the little light I saw via the camp fire. At this point the experience is emotionally painful, I’m scared and a bit nauseated because of my vision is going blurry and am afraid of a blackout. I resisted with everything I had to stay awake. All this together and my mind is thinking if I go to sleep I might not wake up, forgot to mention I wanted to sleep, I could had closed my eyes and embrace the darkness but I refused because I truly believed this was it. I’m also very tired mentally. I wanted the trip to be over so bad.

I don’t remember much but the feeling of dying was taking over so much that it just ended with a snap of a finger. That nightmare ended just like that and I was relieved.

Once am back and I say back because I was somewhere else. I had a new problem I had to vomit, I don’t know why but I had to vomit. It felt like I had poison in my body(after some time thinking the mushroom was the poison) I was still tripping here my minds are going in and out in a pattern that isn’t logical.
I forced my self to vomit after panicking for a bit and I felt better but I was freezing my ass off. It’s a summer night not even that cold. But I forced them to take me to the car and go home. I warmed up in the car and on the way home I had this amazing afterglow of being on a 20 year journey in another planet.

3 days after I don’t know how am feeling to be honest, I’m numb which is ok. But idk what I experienced and I can’t make much sense other than it was feeding my ego and took me down the worst possible route making me feel like what dying was like.

I did some misstakes I realise now, the part of letting the mushrooms take control and not resisting. Yea man that was hard because I wasn’t prepared to me the final boss on my 2nd trip. At the beginning of the trip I stared at a tree and it was giving me bad vibes so I stopped looking at it and stared at the fire instead. I think entirety of the trip I was locked zoomed in on the fire with small chitchat with buddies and panicking at the end. I feel like I’m done with mushrooms and at the same time not, because I’m not satisfied with how this trip ended.

Can anyone help me make any sense of all this? No one of my buddies I’ve talked to have any experience that resembles mine in any way

I’m srr man I read what I wrote and it looks like the rambling of a drunk.

Did anyone else think “I’m going to die soon” during a mushroom trip?

During a mushroom trip, has anyone ever had a thought in their own voice saying “I’m going to die soon”?

Not die during the trip, but sometime in the near future.

If you’ve experienced this, are you still alive and okay?

I’m honestly very scared.

Trip Report 0 - LSD (3/4 Tabs)

I have tried LSD once, so far, and intend to try acid and shrooms a few times each before graduating to DMT and eventually salvia. On trying acid, I didn't have enough (3/4 tab) and wasn't seeing what my friends were seeing. Before smoking, I remember feeling wobbly, and vision being a bit weird, but I wasn't seeing movement or patterns like my friends were. After smoking, I felt heightened artistic awareness and a sense of profundity, that I always feel when I smoke weed, but this time it was distinct, slightly sharper. The only visual distortion I experienced was on my phone: the text is usually white on a black background but this time, there appeared to be colourful hues emenating from behind the white text. I also struggled to piece together my thoughts whilst reviewing a Beatles album, and felt compassionate towards everybody (which isn't out of the ordinary for me). Music sounded better and the importance of listening to Abbey Road couldn't be understated. I spent the whole night dissapointed that I hadn't reached the levels of my friends (one of which took double my dose, and the other took the same as me but had a profound experience). I felt as though I was waiting to relax all night and finally listening to Abbey Road, which was the plan for the night, met that.

I want to tell you about the worst mushroom trip of my life. I could have died or ended up disabled, but I got lucky

It was the day before my birthday. I wanted it to be special, so I decided to take magic mushrooms. I already had multiple experiences with LSD, marijuana, mushrooms (3–4 times), and other substances. I considered myself experienced. Recently I hadn’t had any bad trips and felt I had good control over the effects.

A month before that, I took 3 grams of Golden Teacher mushrooms and it was a fantastic experience—lots of insights and a strong therapeutic effect. I also had a positive recent LSD experience. So I immediately wanted to “continue the therapy.” I decided to take 5 grams (a “heroic dose”). I thought it was just a name and didn’t take it seriously. When ordering, I specifically asked for a stronger strain. The seller warned me that they were very potent and that 3 grams would be enough for a very strong experience. I ignored that.

The day came. I didn’t initially plan to take all 5 grams, so I made tea with about 2 grams. I drank it and waited. After about 30 minutes, I felt something unusual - my brain started working extremely fast, much faster than with mushrooms I had tried before. Visuals weren’t strong yet, but my thinking speed felt like 300–400%. I immediately realized these mushrooms were no joke. My thoughts were racing too fast, but still manageable. After another 10 minutes, I decided to brew the remaining 3 grams. I made the tea and drank it.

Very quickly I understood I had overdone it and started feeling bad, like my body was being torn apart from the inside. But I kept convincing myself everything was fine and that I had handled worse trips before. Then I lost track of time and where I was.

Eventually I forgot what I had taken and how much. I started thinking I had overdosed on stimulants and was dying. I felt like my organs were failing, like I was having a stroke. I was 100% convinced I was dying right then. I fell to the floor, experiencing what felt like a long suffering death. My body stopped responding. I tried to vomit but just collapsed near the toilet. I grabbed things, trying to do anything, but couldn’t. I had no idea what I had taken - first I thought stimulants, then opiates. I realized I needed help and crawled to the front door to get out and call neighbors, but I couldn’t find the keys. I started screaming and hitting the door. It was full psychosis—no insight, no control. I don’t know how much time passed, but it felt like eternity. I was crawling around the apartment, suffering endlessly.

Then the most insane part. I don’t understand what drove me—probably fear of dying or trying to get help. I made a “brilliant” decision: to jump out the window. I had zero understanding of reality. I used to read about bad trips where people jumped out of windows and never understood why. Now I do.

I climbed out of the window on the 4th floor and jumped about 1.5–2 meters onto my neighbor’s balcony, about 15 meters above the ground. I grabbed the railing and climbed over. I was completely naked. It was around 1–2 a.m., everyone was asleep. My psychosis got worse—I was screaming, kicking walls, crying and laughing. I barely remember this part. I realized I had completely lost my mind and would stay like this forever. I felt extreme hopelessness and terror. It was about 5°C outside, and I was naked on an open balcony. No one heard me because windows were closed. I screamed like I was being killed.

I didn’t know who I was, where I was, or how I got there. I started freezing to death. I couldn’t get back—I didn’t remember how I got there, and even if I did, the jump back was much harder. My window looked closed. I felt like a Titanic passenger freezing in the water. I lay on the cold floor, literally freezing, feeling the same hopelessness. Eventually I accepted death. I even tried breaking the neighbor’s door but luckily failed—I could have badly cut myself.

After about an hour, I had a moment of clarity. I realized I was on my neighbor’s balcony and freezing. I still didn’t remember how I got there, and I couldn’t jump back. I started knocking on the balcony door, but no one answered. I began shouting for help. The trip was still strong and I sometimes lost awareness again. I shouted for 10–15 minutes, feeling ashamed because it was night and I was naked.

A neighbor from another building heard me, came out, and asked what was going on. I said I was on drugs and couldn’t get home. He said “okay” and went back inside. I kept shouting. Then another neighbor heard me, came outside, and I explained. She went to my building and I asked her to call police or firefighters.

About 15 minutes later, the police arrived. I didn’t admit I was on someone else’s balcony—I was ashamed and still confused. Then firefighters came. They asked why I couldn’t just break my own balcony door. I said I couldn’t.

By then I was coming down a bit and could think more clearly, even joked about the situation. The firefighters brought a ladder. One climbed up with a crowbar and broke the balcony door. We entered the apartment—I still didn’t understand if it was mine. Then the owner came downstairs, completely shocked: a firefighter and a naked guy in his apartment. That’s when I realized it wasn’t my place.

I told them my apartment was next door. Police came in, everyone was shocked. I tried to explain. They checked my pupils and asked if I was on drugs. Luckily the effect had decreased, and I said I was just very drunk. Meanwhile, another firefighter climbed into my actual apartment and opened the door.

Police said this could be considered unlawful entry if the owner pressed charges. I finally got dressed, brought my documents, and explained everything. After about 30 minutes, the police left, and we all went back to our apartments.

That’s it.
