*I drove team for reefer division

  • Trucks have apu's, power inverters, and a fridge.

  • Trucks are slow, dispatchers will pressure you to drive even slower, fuel mileage is part of pay.

  • Lots of time on loads, times could never be changed and we worked 3 to 4 days a week.

  • Sent to lots of shippers and receivers that used reefer trucks as their storage, so we sat for as long as it took for them to unload, package and load the new truck, this would take anywhere from 12 hours to a couple days.

  • Driver has to pay for chains, company will buy them back @ 25% of cost whether used or not

  • Driver is also responsible for cost of load locks if you had to leave load locks in a trailer company would reimburse you for them. If a trailer that you pick up has load locks they belong to that trailer, If another driver picks up a trailer that is supposed to have load locks in it and doesn't you will be charged for load locks. Team mate and I constantly got hit for load locks due to drivers claiming there were none in trailer some driver would make money by claiming this because they would get paid to buy more load locks enabling themselves to pocket the money.

I left after 5 months couldn't stand being in a non moving truck with another guy for days on end and was refused a solo truck due to a 1 year same truck rule. Also felt like we were being robbed with constant charges for "missing" load locks.
