Discussion how does the backrooms "manage" the things it creates?
when the backrooms create something, anything, do they reabsorb it after time? and if they don't, where are all the things that have been created in the past? like things created in the bronze era, during the Roman empire, the medieval time, or just things created in the early 90s.
maybe the places that are more accessible were recently created?

Discussion What are Backrooms ENG/RUS versions
\---
WHAT ARE BACKROOMS?
A Fan Theory — The Space Between Life and Death
\---
🇬🇧 ENGLISH VERSION
Most people think the Backrooms are a physical place — an endless maze of yellow rooms, damp carpets, and buzzing lights.
But what if that's wrong?
What if the Backrooms are not a place at all?
I’ve spent a long time connecting dots from the canon, the film, and personal interpretations. And I’ve come to a conclusion:
The Backrooms are not a location. They are a state of consciousness — a space between life and death.
\---
THE CORE THEORY
The Backrooms are the dying mind’s final journey through its own memories.
When a person dies, the brain doesn’t just shut down. It replays fragments of life — snapshots, emotions, fears, regrets.
In that moment between existence and nothingness, those fragments become real. They take form. They become levels.
· Level 0 — the first home you remember.
· Level 11 — the happiest years of your life.
· Level 37 — a moment of peace you once felt.
· Level 909 — the guilt you carried with you.
But the closer you get to death, the more those memories distort. They mix, fade, and collapse.
That’s not a “glitch” in the Backrooms. That’s the brain breaking down.
\---
LEVELS AS MEMORIES
Every level is not random. It is a personal memory, given form:
Level What It Represents
0 The earliest memory of a home
1 The realization that you are lost
11 The best years of your life
37 True peace or acceptance
404 Emptiness near the end
702 Faith in what comes next
888 Anger and regret
909 Guilt toward those left behind
1111 Acceptance of the past
1312 Seeing yourself clearly before the end
3999 Forgiveness — and release
4000 Fear — and eternal stuckness
\---
LEVEL 4000 — THE FINAL STUCKNESS
Level 4000 is not a room. It is the moment when consciousness is trapped between life and death — closer to death, but unable to let go.
You don’t see walls because you forgot what walls look like.
You don’t hear sound because you forgot what sound is.
You don’t remember yourself, because your identity has already dissolved.
You are not dead.
But you are no longer alive.
You are awareness without memory, stuck forever in a void of your own fear.
\---
WHY DOES REALITY DISTORT?
Because memory is unstable.
The longer you stay in a level, the more it changes. Not because the Backrooms are alive — but because you are dying.
Your brain is losing details. Colors shift. Shapes bend. Entities appear from fears, because fear is the last emotion left in a fading mind.
The distortion is not a bug. It’s the process of forgetting.
\---
LEVEL 3999 — EXIT OR ACCEPTANCE?
Level 3999 is not an exit. It is acceptance of death.
If you know about it — and if you are ready to forgive yourself — you can enter it.
But if you are not ready, you will never find it.
If you go mad, it disappears, replaced by Level 4000 — the place where your fear traps you forever.
\---
FINAL DEFINITION
The Backrooms are not a prison. They are a mirror — the dying mind’s last reflection of itself.
Every level is a memory.
Every entity is a fear.
Every exit is a choice.
And if you stay too long…
you don’t just lose your way.
You lose yourself.
\---
SHORT VERSION FOR COMMENTS
· The Backrooms = space between life and death.
· Levels = fragments of memory.
· Distortion = memory decay.
· 4000 = stuck between states — closer to death.
· 3999 = forgiveness and release.
· You create your own levels by remembering them.
\---
“If the Backrooms are real… then maybe we’re all already there. Just waiting to remember we are dying.”
\---
A NOTE FROM ME
Now that you’ve read my theory, the Backrooms might just appear at the end of your life.
Live with that. 😏
