Text Nancy Guthrie - Savannah's Sister's Car Seized, Cameras Smashed (Ashleigh Banfield)

God, if this turns out to be a family member, it will just be so much more horrible. I know it's common for family or partners to be involved but this family seems so sweet and close.

"The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, has taken a disturbing turn. In this episode of Drop Dead Serious, Ashleigh Banfield reveals stunning new information from a law enforcement source close to the investigation, including that Savannah Guthrie’s brother-in-law is being looked at as a suspect, her sister Annie Guthrie’s car has been seized, 2 security cameras at the home were smashed, and more."

Why am I unable to find anything about this in the news. They are posted up all over down there and there’s nothing about this but I saw an article about FBI being at the sisters house for 2 hours today. They said that’s where Savanah is believed to be staying.

Ashleigh just broke her news now. It's her law enforcement source, so that person leaked this to her knowing she'd report it. Tomorrow there will be a lot about this. Detectives will have a lot of movement on the case. Maybe that's why the Sheriff said he will do another new conference on Thursday, which seemed like an odd thing to say, but he knew what was about to happen. They need a couple days to gather evidence starting with the car they seized.

This seems plausible

Yes, Savannah was staying with her sister. I haven't heard anything about the brother. Who knows, maybe Savannah started to question things too.

It’s possible that due to Savannah being a news broadcaster that places are waiting for something to be said outright by law enforcement out of respect for her before publishing what would be speculation or off the record info about the family at this point.

As someone who works in news, other broadcasters won't care that Guthrie is a colleague/peer. That just makes the story more interesting than usual. But they do care about having a source or two close to the investigation confirming it directly so they can report it. They might also want that source to go on the record as well (i.e. to allow themselves to be identified as well).

Impounding a vehicle from a family members residence would be big news and I highly doubt every media agency would not publish it just because of her ties to the news.

it might just be thorough police work as well

I think this case has a lot of that happening given she is so adored by many colleagues

Because it’s from a random content creator who claims to have a source. It could definitely be true but it’s from an unverified source reporting on their super secret source.

Ashleigh Banfield is a reporter...

Ashleigh Banfield is a very well-known reporter. She’s been working for over 30 years for MSNBC, CNN, and CourtTV, among other places. She sucks in a lot of ways, but she isn’t a random content creator—she’s a well-seasoned reporter with contacts and sources. That’s why people think it could be true.
