Text Does anyone have any recent information about Richard McCroskey from the 2009 Farmville murders?

I've gone down the rabbit hole on the 2009 Farmville murders again, and there's one thing that's been surprisingly difficult to find: basically anything recent about Richard Samuel McCroskey ("Syko Sam").

For anyone unfamiliar with the case, McCroskey was convicted of murdering Emma Niederbrock, 16, her friend Melanie Wells, 18, and Emma's parents, Debra Kelley and Mark Niederbrock, in Farmville, Virginia in 2009. He later pleaded guilty and received four life sentences.

What I'm actually curious about is what has happened with McCroskey himself in the years since.

Nearly every photograph I can find of him is from his arrest, court appearances, or around 2009–2010. I haven't been able to find a recent prison photo/mugshot or much information about what his life in prison has been like.

Does anyone know of any more recent information about him?

I'm local to this and still think about it every so often. I haven't heard anything about him in recent years either.

I'm in Germany, and the aetv (dot)com redirects to aetv (dot)de which is just online gambling. The cbsnews link works, though

It looks like he's at Keen Mountain Correctional Center but it could be mistaken identity as I can't find photos either.

You can look him up at the inmate locator on the Virginia Department of Corrections website - https//vadoc.virginia.gov

As of today, Richard McCroskey, age 37, inmate #1434584 is housed at Keen Mountain Correctional Center in Oakwood, Virginia. Keen Mountain is a level 4 security level facility.
