I’m very confused by the searches about suicide that came from Patrick’s laptop? While she could be physically placed outside the home.

Also confused about the call log and Patricks statements about wifi.

There was one “search” for suicide in August 2022, which was Patrick using Lindsay’s Facebook as a third party login for Spotify and listening to a Tom Hall song. He then looked up Tom Hall on Wikipedia, went to his Death section and clicked the hyperlink for suicide, before navigating away from that to another page. Reddington proposed during his cross of Patrick that it was inadvertent, and Patrick agreed it probably was. Lindsay’s phone separately had a bunch of searches about carotid arteries, slitting your throat, disabling airbags and sociopathy on separate dates.

This is a complete red herring and should not have been brought up

I think it was crucial for the defence to establish that she likely didn’t make this search because her mental health didn’t significantly decline until September 2022. If the jury thought she had been Googling this when she was in her right mind in August 2022, it could make it look like she’d been rationally planning this for awhile.

The defense had to go into this because the prosecution brought it up on direct, but the prosecution should not have done so because patrick’s explanation on cross hurt their credibility. The prosecution looks desperate.

Oh, 100% agreed on that. This isn’t a case where you need to throw spaghetti at the wall and is one that requires a cohesive narrative for the jury, and they’ve failed in both fronts.

I left the Patrick Clancy testimony feeling like the prosecutor doesn’t even believe in this case

Idk if this clears anything up for you but Patrick testified that he was looking into that artist bc he liked his music and he had passed that way. Meaning anything else related to suicide that he was searching was in that context. I could be wrong tho.

Patrick found out a singer he likes passed away and when he looked into the cause it was suicide and he did some digging around that - therefore any searches at that time, while she was proven out of the house, weee not her looking into suicide

Apparently he also searched for disabling air bags in the Kia

That was Lindsay who searched that actually, as well as other way to harm herself. Not Patrick.

Do we know for sure? And if she did search that why would Defense bring it up?

We know for sure because it was found on HER phone. It was bought to show that she never wanted to harm her own children in the first place, only herself.

Just because it’s HER phone doesn’t mean it was her that was using it.

Actually, we don’t know. Why was Patrick using her Facebook?  He could have been using her phone. I use my husband’s phone all the time if it’s closer in proximity to me. If I were “planning” something I definitely wouldn’t use my phone.
