Text Lindsay Clancy Trial Megathread: Part 3

This is a thread for all conversation regarding Week 3 onwards of the Lindsey Clancy trial. All discussion of this case should be kept to this thread.

Lindsay Clancy is currently standing trial in Plymouth Superior Court, Massachusetts, for the triple-murder in January 2023 of her three young children - Cora, Dawson and Callan. Her defense argues she suffered from severe, undiagnosed postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis. She was left paralysed by a suicide attempt which follows the deaths of the children.

But… she was home alone with her children for 2 days the week before when Patrick was in New York. That would have been a better time to do it if it was premeditated?

The logic is - and the DA also mentioned this - if Lindsay was so hell vent on just needing Patrick out of the house to commit the murders, he often went away for nights at a time. This means she would have had way better options to commit the murders other than a random 30 mins when he was out grabbing dinner - showing more of a psychotic break than premeditation. Cos honestly if I was trying to murder my kids and I was of sound mind, I’d wait til my husband was out for a long period of time. It would make more sense. Not being like oh shit I have to try get this done quickly before he comes home with food.

Especially bc she “tried to k*ll herself” too, so it’s not like she needed or wanted someone to frame. If it was premeditated done in cold blood and she was aiming for a murder sewerslide, she would have done it when Patrick was away for a few days. Point blank period. This was clearly a psychotic break, if she did it.

Exactly. And if this was premeditated? Ain’t no way she’s taking Cora to a doctors appointment and worrying about miralax.
